Mom was still sleeping so I grabbed an ice tea out of the fridge and headed up to my room. I took a quick shower... ugh... how had I managed to not offend Zack with how I smelled after our run for the last two hours?

Boys. I shook my head and hurried through it. I braided my hair again so it would dry and be wavy when I wanted to get ready for my date. I thought about my homework while I shaved my legs, managing to not cut myself while I did. They said distracted driving was a really bad thing but I'm going to go ahead and rank distracted leg shaving as a close second. I rubbed lotion on my legs and went to write my paper.

I texted Sang. ~Is it bad that I would seriously love to kiss him tonight? ~ I set the phone aside and opened my laptop.

I ignored my phone alert while I was writing until I was at a spot that required me to re-think my reason and explanation. I opened the phone and read the message.

~No. But you can make him kiss your fingers over your lips if you're more comfortable. ~

I frowned at her words and sent a confused face and a bunch of question marks back at her. I was drinking ice tea when she responded.

~It's what I did. With the boys. Luke says he's been here all week. I say that is almost like tonight isn't a first date. More like the 3rd which is A-ok for kissing. ~

~With all the boys? ~

She sent a blushing smilie and said, no... not Owen and Sean but all the rest.

Now that made me really curious, apparently for all my casual observation at 12, there was plenty that I missed. Probably from going to all those weekend sleepovers. ~I demand a girl's night next weekend. Or soon. Zack might want to go out again next weekend. ~

~OOOOH. Zack...~ she'd added a bunch of kissy lips so I sent a rolling eye smilie back and told her I had to finish my essay.

~Okay. But when do you want to prom dress shop? ~

~After I ask him...~

~Ha. Ok. Let me know and I'll tell Gabriel. ~ I acknowledged her answer with smilie faces and put my phone on the charger so that I could finish my essay.

Ugh.

Now all I could focus on was the fact that she 'kissed' 7 guys when she was 16 with a set of fingers over her lips so really she kissed fingers, not lips. Made me wonder just what happened to have her kiss Sean and Owen without the protection of fingers. So odd.

I pressed my fingers to the bridge of my nose and took a few deep breaths before exhaling slowly and focusing my attention back on my paper.

Shadow proceeded Mom's appearance in my room and we talked for a moment while I was typing about her expectations for my evening. "okay Mom." I said, glancing at her for a long moment.

Ha. As if she really, truly, expected me to be out late enough to need the curfew she just set me. I bit my tongue to keep from pointing out that Kota had no such restrictions when he was my age.

Then again, we'd gone over a lot of that a couple weeks ago.

And for the most part, she was on my side. I just had to be patient and wait for her to realize and see that I wasn't going to go off the deep end when it came to a guy I really liked. She knew that she was preaching to the choir and took Shadow back downstairs with her as she left me to finish my homework and get ready. I had already reassured her that I thought it was too early for her to meet Zack.

I finished my essay with about an hour to spare and quickly completed the math homework I hated so much. At least I didn't have a science class this year. I logged in my run time from this morning and my 'mileage' from my tracking app on my phone so that it would reflect for extra credit for the gym class I wasn't taking. I'd taken an exchange for it, I would track my exercise to show that I was exercising for at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week to have a free class period during the day.
