A lesson learned is easier
Said than done
When you're living in a
World without the sun
My mind keeps struggling to
Remember

"I wish I could find a way to make up for all that I've done." Vic sighed, closing his brown eyes as his wife went through their room, packing her things. "I know the choice was mine but can you blame me?" He asked the blue eyed woman, and Kellin turned slowly. "Yes I can. You were hurt, but that doesn't mean you pack your shit and stay with someone else while I'm not home for a few hours."

"Yeah, the choice was all mine, but I never thought that I'd be the last man standing alone." Vic said, and Kellin scoffed then walked out, slamming the door behind her.

I miss you here by my side
But, darling,
I can't help but feel like
Love has died

"Operator is there anybody at all that can explain why I'd give everything and more up for her?" Vic asked Kellin's friend Cole later that evening, drunkenly calling her home in hopes that a love hotline would answer.
"I know it's unbelievable but something 'bout her I can't resist." He sighed, and Cole let out a deep breath. "Vic, if you call again I'll call the police. Stop stalking my best friend."

But she doesn't even know I exist

"So, yeah, I pulled the plug but I swore the spark would still be there" Kellin sighed a few days later, and Vic smiled, caressing her cheek. His flatmate Jaime walked in then, almost crying when he saw Vic stroking air like he was stroking someone's cheek.

Buried beneath the promises
And lies
We suffocated in all our own filth

"I swear I only wanted what was best but you just left!" Vic cried out a few minutes later, tears cascading down his face as he stared at the air in front of him like it was talking to him. "I was just lonely you were in love." Kellin scoffed, and Vic fell to his knees.
"But now it seems that the table's have turned and I feel so alone."

Yeah, the choice was all mine,
But I never thought that I'd be the
Last man standing alone.
I miss you here by my side
But, darling, I can't help but
Feel like, love has died.

Operator is there anybody at all
That can explain why I'd give
Everything and more up for her?

"I know it's unbelievable but something 'bout her I can't resist but she doesn't even know I exist." Vic said to his therapist, who have him a small smile as she failed the number for a mental institution a few hours away

"Darling, won't you forgive me? I'm just looking for a little bit of love in this heartbreak city." Vic pleaded, and Kellin let out a small laugh as he began to fade into the sunset behind him.

Darling, won't you forgive me?
I'm looking for a little bit of love but
She doesn't even know I exist

"All I wanted was to be your love
But now you've left and I cannot fill the void." Vic whispered to himself the next week, his eyes hollow and bloodshot from lack of sleep.

All I wanted was to be your love
But now I'm finally moving on

"I waited all this time to watch you jump out of my life. If I knew you'd only wanted me for just a single night I would've left and never returned." He spat, staring daggers at Kellin who stood against the wall of his small 8 by 8 room.
"But you had to beg me to fall in again and now I'm just your slave."

Operator is there anybody at all
That can explain why I gave
Everything and more up for her?

"I know I sound so gullible but something 'bout her just drew me in..." He laughed, a harsh and cold sound before looking up, madness glinting in his eyes as his brother looked on in fear. "But that bitch don't even notice me."

I'm looking for a little bit of love but
She doesn't even know I exist
