Okay in the chapter where Becca and (M/n) get married, there is a scene with Becca and her sister. Right before the wedding in Becca's dressing room, her sister comes in to talk to her. I am going to explain the stuff her sister said.
Becca comes from a very rich family. She was the oldest of five meaning she was the successor. She was tired of having her life lived for her and when her parents said they were going to arrange for her to be married, she lost it. She took everything she could including some money (they were filthy rich, who would even notice). Her parents kept trying to lure her back in but nothing worked. Her family eventually stopped going after her but they still kept tabs on her. Becca (legally) changed her last name to Tunnar* and the rest is history!
*I don't remember how to spell her last name or if that even is her last name*
