Chapter 54 - Alastair

When I found out that the three of them are already alive, I have a pretty good idea kung saan sila pupunta.

Mag-isa ko pumasok sa isang medieval catacombs that was built noong panahon pa ni Alexander The Great na isa na ngayong archeological site. Parang isang ancient necropolis during the Roman times. When I first visited this place, I felt that there's something ominous about these underground tunnels. But since hindi na ko guardian, I can't fully trust my instincts as I have limited powers.

Ang catacombs ay open sa public but surprisingly, walang tao ngayon dito. I asked my men to wait outside and no one should go inside. Wala silang laban kay Alastair, Azaroth at kay Azalar.

Nagsimula ako maglakad sa corridors ng catacombs. Alm ko na di ako nag-iisa. I can somehow feel their presence.

Sa isang isolated part ng underground cemetery, andoon ang tatlong silver haired na lalaki. Ang isa may long straight silver hair, si Alastair. Ang isa naman ay may maikli na buhok si, Azaroth. At ang isa ay may shoulder length hair, si Azalar. Kung bakit ako andito hindi ko din sigurado.

Ilang metro na lang ang layo ko sa kanila nang mapansin nila ko. Sabagay hindi na ko guardian. They can't detect my presence right away. Gulat ang nakita ko sa mukha nila nang makita ako.

"Alastair... Azaroth... Azalar..."

"Raviael? Buhay ka?" nagtatakang tnong ni Alastair.

Akala niya siguro namatay ako nang kinulong ko si Lilith noon dahil sa amount ng power na na consume ko.

"Alastair... Ang mga tao ngayon, they are not like before. They are capable of unselfish love. Hindi mo kailangan samahan si Lilith sa paghihiganti niya."

"Really?" naguguluhan na tanong ni Alastair.

Si Azaroth naman at si Azalar ay tahimik na nakatingin sa akin.

"Alam ko na matindi ang galit niyo sa mga tao dahil sa pagtataksil nila noon kay Ama. Pero natuto sila na humingi ng tawad at magmahal sa kapwa. Pag-isipan niyo mabuti ang gagawin niyo sa sangkatauhan."

Tumawa lang si Alastair, a condescending laugh to humiliate me.

"Raviael, we may be sleeping for thousands of years but we are well aware of the wickedness of this world. Why do you think I woke up and raise the deadly Black Plague in Dark Ages? Because humans are fucking disgusting."

"Alastair not all of them are evil. Not all of them. Some are capable of selfless deeds."

"Of course Raviael. Some of them are pure just like Xi Wu, the sorceress. Sabihin mo nga Azaroth kung ano ginawa mo kay Xi Wu?"

But Azaroth remained calm and silent. Even Azalar remained expressionless.

"Fine Azaroth, wala ka sa mood, I understand. Sorry Raviael, di pa kasi niya fully matanggap na wala na si Xi Wu. Ano tawag dun sa panahon ngayon? Bitter? Di maka move-on?" natatawang tanong ni Alastair.

"How did you know Xi Wu? Akala ko nag hibernate kayo for thousands of years?"

"We are waking up from time to time pero one at a time lang. As you know by know, we are the mysterious residents of the three pyramids of Giza. We need to ensure that our chambers are still safe. My friend, Azaroth here woke up when he felt a sudden surge of power in China. Guess what? You entrusted one of the medallions to Xi Wu and she's using its excess power for healing. And this guy over here, my beloved friend, fell in love," sabay tapik ni Alastair sa balikat ni Azaroth.

"With Xi Wu?"

"It's too late Raviael. If you're here to convince us to turn our back on Lilith, your efforts are pointless," sabi Alastair sabay punch sa wall ng catacombs. Andoon ang tatlong sword hilts, their Angelus.

He waved his hand at mabilis ako tumilapon. He was not even satisfied at lumipad ako at tumama ng ilang beses sa walls at ceiling ng catacombs.

"I won't kill you, Raviael. You're powerless and I want to see you suffer. I want you to witness how I will destroy humanity, the race that you are trying to..."

In a blink of an eye, nakalapit si Alastair sa akin. Nagkaroon ng dark glowing blade ang Angelus niya at sinaksak sa stomach ko ng mabilis.

"Protect..."

Ramdam ko ang hiwa ng Angelus sa aking katawan pati ang mabilis na pagdanak ng dugo ko. Within seconds, nag collapsed ako sa floor.

"Alastair. Leave him..." utos ni Azalar.

I can feel that Reichel and the others are on their way here.

"New generation of newbie trainees? I wonder how I should make them suffer," sabi ni Alastair sabay hugot ng Angelus sa katawan ko.
