maybe i shouldn't have loved you so much.
cared for you so much.
maybe i shouldn't have trusted you;
maybe if i hadn't had talked to you everyday; if i had kept disliking you—
maybe if my heart was harder—?

i'm glad that i loved you. because i did –and still do.
i'm glad i cared for you. i hope it reminded you that there is still good in the world.
i'm glad i trusted you. i was so much more safe around you.
i'm glad i talked to you everyday and started to like you.
i'm glad my heart was soft.

and i hope it will always be soft.

that heart is many of your homes,
and i hope you'll return for a visit someday.
