i hope the gods are still alive

i hope the boy i sit next to in german is hades
i hope the old lady who smiled at me on the bus is hera
i hope the little girl with the pink backpack bigger than she is is persephone.

i hope the gods are still alive;
i hope they like it in the concrete jungle.

the young sky is painted pink
i hope they're happy here.
