Chapter 29

*The Next Day*

Diannes POV

I tried to have Joe stay home from school, however he insisted that he came in since he didnt want to miss a day. I walked to my room to get changed, deciding to straighten my hair for that day. It was a friday and tomorrow I had my competition, so during todays breaks I would use the gym to practice.

I walked downstairs to see Joe having made me breakfast for once.
"Hey thats my job." I smiled, sitting down and taking a slice of toast and spreading some peanut butter across it.
"My job today." He smiled and kissed my forehead.
"Hows the wounds?" I asked.
"They still hurt, but I took some painkillers and Im bringing some in today." He said, taking a seat next to me and covering his slice of toast with a generous layer of nutella.
"Thats so much!" I smiled, finishing my toast.
"Not enough I say." He chuckled, finishing his before standing up. We walked to the bathroom, brushing out teeth before grabbing out bags and leaving the house. On the way to school, I kept asking Joe if he was okay, if he needed to take a break of if his lip or stomach hurt.
"Baby Im fine." He smiled. "Its sweet you care but Im gonna be fine."
I nodded, walking through the gates and over to the boys.
"Hey guys. Joe shouldnt you have stayed home?" Oli asked.
"Im fine. If it gets too much Ill go home." He said, however I knew he wouldnt go. He wouldnt let me walk home alone. I wasnt asleep. I knew he wanted someone with me at all times so that I wouldnt get hurt. No, I didnt think it was overprotective. It was sweet. Really sweet actually.

The bell went, Joe kissing my cheek before walking to his tutor.
"So, you looking forward to the competition tomorrow?" Oli asked and I nodded.
"Yeah. Hopefully I can bring back another trophie." I said, sitting down in tutor. He nodded, sitting next to me.
"Youre gonna love the costume my mum has got for you." He said and I nodded.
"Ive loved all the past ones so Im sure Ill love this one just as much." I smiled, being registered like everyone else.

We had PE first, and I didnt want Joe to get hurt since thats most likely to happen. When I finished getting changed I walked down to the sports hall. When I walked in, I saw Scarlett all over Joe, but what shocked me most was when she kissed him. Caspar noticed me, and Joe had already shoved Scarlett off him.
"WHAT THE HELL!" I snapped, and you could see her jump. I stormed over, staring daggers at her. When I got over to them, I slapped her straight across the cheek, pulling her hair causing her to stumble backwards.
"Ow stop!"
"Get your filthy, slutty paws off my boyfriend!" I snapped, letting her go before looking back at Joe. He smiled, pulling me into a hug.
"Thanks baby." He whispered and I smiled.
"She needs to know her place." I smirked, kissing his cheek.
"She does." He smiled, and we walked over to get put into teams. I smiled, getting put on a team with Caspar, and Joe and Jack on the other team.

We played against them, and due to Caspars height we won, but we did go easy on them since we knew Joe was hurt and couldnt play as well. Lets face it, he isn't too good anyway. His strengths lay elsewhere. After the lesson I ran back up to the changing rooms, changing quickly and getting out of there so I didnt have to deal with the wrath of The Barbie Dolls. I stood downstairs by the door, the boys soon walking out and standing with me, waiting for the bell to ring. When it did, I took Joe's hand, walking to IT/ICT with him. We sat down next to each other, logging onto the computers. I smiled, pulling up my course work, beginning to work on it to get it finished.
"Hey, Hey Di." Joe whispered, handing me a piece of gum. I smiled, chewing on it silently, asking Joe if he was in any pain every so often, but luckily he wasnt. I smiled, helping him with parts of his coursework every so often when he needed it. I smiled, finishing my work quickly, so I helped Joe with his, resting my head on his shoulder. I smiled, Joe finishing his work. We had about 15 minutes of the lesson left which we spent mucking around, until Joe started feeling pain in his stomach so I had him take some painkillers to help ease the pain.

After the lesson we walked to the canteen, sitting down at our table. I smiled, Joe putting an arm around me.
"Seriously you guys are couple goals." Mikey laughed.
"I know. The schools alpha couple." Joe smiled and I nodded.
"Exactly." I smiled, leaning into his side. He chuckled and kissed my forehead. I saw Scarlett walk in, and she didnt even look at us, sitting down with her friends silently.
"Ive got to say Dianne, Id never expect you to be so fiesty."
"What can I say? Full off surprises." I smiled innocently, eating my fruit salad I had brought with me for that day.
"What do you have after break?" He asked me.
"Stats. I hate it." I huffed.
"At least you were smart enough to get invited to do it."
"Yeah I guess." I smiled sweetly and he chuckled.
"Hey guys." Caspar clicked his fingers, getting our attention.
"I know youre all in love but we wanna talk."
"About?" Joe asked.
"Melony. We know shes going after Dianne." Jack said, Joe giving him a 'why did you mention it' look.
"I already knew." I said and Joe settled.
"Oh okay."
"Anyway." Jack continued. "Weve decided that during certain times and in certain places we each look after you." I nodded.
"Joe will look after you at his or your house. When at dance competitions, Oli will look after you. In cafes, Mikey will watch over you. If we go out to a restaurant Caspar and Josh will look out for you and if we go somewhere activity based, like laser quest, Jack and/or Conor will watch over you. Then in public we all look after you, or whoever youre with when not in a full group." He finished.
"You realise Ill be fine right-"
"We dont wanna take any chances." Joe smiled.
"Youre like our baby sister now. Weve gotta protect you." Jack smiled and I nodded.
"Thank you. Really, I appricite it." I said softly, holding onto Joes hand tightly.
"Its the least we can do." Josh smiled.
"I wanna sleep." I said randomly, snuggling into Joes side.
"Well youre at school so you cant." He chuckled and I pouted.
"No fair." I whined, hugging him gently so I didnt hurt him.
"When we get home you can go to sleep. Besides you need a goodnight sleep for tomorrow." Joe said and I nodded. The bell soon went and I dragged myself to Statistics with Oli and Byron.

*After School*

Joes POV

"Carry me?" Dianne asked when she met me at the gate.
"Fine." I huffed and picked her up, making sure not to hurt my stomach. I carried her the whole way home, carrying her up to my room and laying her down.
"You were really tired werent you." I smiled and she nodded, holding my hand.
"Cuddle me?" She asked softly and I nodded, laying down next to her and wrapping my arms round her.
"Goodnight baby...."

A/N

So Joe and Dianne are into the semi finals. I hope they get to the finals, and I wanna see Joe meet Diannes parents and also for him to dye his hair red.

Sadly I think Lauren and AJ are going to go next week which is sad since I love their ballroom dances.
