Chapter 39

*The next day*

Diannes POV

Today was the last day of school, and we only have half of the day, finishing at 12:30. I smiled, having woken up in Joes arms.
"I need to get up."
"No." He pouted, clinging onto me, not letting me get out of bed.
"Come on, we only have half a day." I smiled and kissed him before wiggling out his arms. I got up and stretched, cracking my back. I heard Joe get up, and I soon felt him wrap his arms round me, resting his head on mine.
"What are we doing after school?"
"I dont know. We could all go to someones."
"Josh's"
"Lets ask him when we get to school." I said, turning round in his arms and kissing him softly before pulling away. I left the room, walking to mine. I closed the door, changing into my uniform before sitting down, brushing my hair before putting it into two french braids. I smiled, putting on a light bit of makeup. Joe knocked at my door and I grabbed my bag before walking out.
"Love the hair." He smirked, putting an arm round my shoulders before we walked downstairs together. Joe sat down at the table and I put my bag down, putting some bread into the toaster, waiting for it to pop up before putting it on two plates, putting them on the table before grabbing the nutella and a knife. I sat down, waiting for Joe to finish putting nutella on his toast before handing the jar to me.
"Got enough there?" He chuckled as I smothered the slice in the chocolate spread. I finished after Joe, and the two of us walked up to the bathroom. We brushed our teeth, and after I put some gum in my mouth, giving a piece to Joe before putting the half empty packet in my pocket. We walked back downstairs, grabbing our bags and putting on our shoes before leaving the house. Joe locked the door and we began our walk to school.

On the way, we saw AJ walking with Conor and Jack. However I noticed that Jack had a tight hold on AJs wrist. Had something happened? We waited for them, smiling when they got to us.
"Hey guys." Joe smiled, having an arm round my waist.
"Hey." Jack smiled, AJ giving us a small and quick smile, however it didnt seem real. I wonder what had happened. We continued our walk to school, hearing the bell go as we walked through the gates.
"See you later babe." Joe kissed me goodbye before walking towards his tutor. I walked to my tutor room, sitting down next to Oli.
"Hey hey." I smiled, joining in their conversation.
"AJ...he gets bullied every morning by Scarlett and her friends.... Jack and I have tried stopping her however she keeps coming back for him...." Conor sighed. "Jack has never been so close to someone before. None of us. Hes had this connection with AJ where something has just clicked. He hates seeing that boy hurt. Yet Jack wont hurt Scarlett. We need to do something." He added and we nodded.
"But what?" Mikey asked.
"Im not sure yet." Conor sighed. "But we need to do something quick. Its hurting Jack more than Ive ever seen him hurt. Hes my brother, and I just want him and AJ to both be happy." He said before being cut off by the bell. We all split off to our separate lessons, however I didnt talk until I sat down in my dance theory lesson. AJ walked in, smiling and sitting down next to me. This was a lesson where we didn't actually dance, and just learnt about the science within the sport. I took down a few notes, smiling a little, helping AJ when he needed it.
"Thanks." He whispered, smiling a little. I smiled softly, finishing the work before the lesson ended.
"So, you and Jack huh?"
"Hes like a brother to me." AJ smiled. "Ive never felt so happy to be around someone. He actually cares about me." He said.
"Aww youre blushing."
"No Im not!" He covered his face. Lucky for him, he was saved by the bell. We packed our stuff up, walking out the classroom and towards science. When we got there, we saw that our class had been moved to an IT room. We walked there quickly, seeing some of the class already there. Joe looked up and smiled, having saved me a seat. With no surprise, Jack had saved a seat for AJ. I sat down, leaning against Joe.
"I ship it." I whispered to him, seeing Jack and AJ messing around. Joe smirked and nodded, putting an arm round my shoulders.
"I ship it too." He said, however it wasnt quite enough since the two looked over at us unimpressed.
"Were not together." Jack said, and behind him Conor was mocking him, making me and Joe burst into fits of laughter.
"Whats so funny?" AJ asked shyly, looking down at his lap.
"Conors just messing around, dont worry about it." Jack said calmly, making AJ smile again.

During the whole lesson we didnt get much revision done, which was our task. All of us kept messing around and Caspar got sent outside for about 10 minutes as well.
"Hey Josh, can we all go back to yours after school?" Joe asked
"Fine by me, we will be home alone." He said. However Jack and AJ werent really listening, the two of them messing around.

*12:30*

AJs POV

I was the last one to the gate, my head down. I didnt say anything, just followed the feet of my friends as I refused to look up. Jack soon stopped, grabbing my hand gently.
"AJ....what happened....?" He asked and I looked up at him. My eye was red, already brusing.
"S-scar-"
"Scarlett. That witch." He snapped before hugging me. "In the new year I wont let her touch you." He whispered before we caught up to the others. We walked into Josh's house, and straight away he walked me to the bathroom, sitting me down on the toilet seat. He got some tissue, dampening it before dapping it on my eye, just to see if it would help, however every touch made it worse. My eyes glazed over with tears, and Jack looked up at me. I looked down at him, and both of us leant in before....
