Peter Barnes, Bucky Barnes' kid, the kid with a man bun and tattoos and piercings. He was a good kid, smart, kind and caring. But no one really saw that, they saw the super hot kid that was always chewing gum. they saw a kid they didn't want to touch in fear of his dad finding them.

he had a girlfriend, but that didn't work out. she only dated him to get back at her parents for something. Peter had figured that out.

the school had announced a talent show, peter thought this was the perfect opportunity to show his girlfriend that he knew what she was doing.

Peter went home, avengers tower.  the avengers didn't like him very much, only Steve really knew him. peters his best friends son for goodness sake. 

Peter got into the elevator, went to the floor he shared with his dad and got out. he went to his room, put his bags down and listened to music.

"hey Friday, can you tell dad im home?" He asked the AI

"of course Peter" Friday responded

Peter just laid back and listened to music.

--avengers common floor--

the avengers and bucky were lounging around doing various things.

"Mr. Barnes, your son has returned home from school, he is in his room on your floor" Friday announced

"oh. Thanks fri" Bucky smiled. he got up and to go to the elevator.

"he better not vandalize my walls" Tony mumbled

"excuse me?" Bucky turned around and started walking back

"you heard me Barnes. the little brat better not be spray painting my walls" 

"my son is the most kind, caring person on Earth, you're the ones who don't want to get to know him." Bucky said, slowly walking closer to Tony.

"Hes right, I got to know him, hes the most amazing person I know. don't judge a book by its cover Stark" Steve but in before it got Physical."cmon Buck, lets go" Steve gently grabbed Buckys arm, guiding him to the elevator.

--back on the Barnes floor--

Steve and Bucky arrived on the floor and went to Peters room, they knocked and opened the door.

"hey kid, how was your day?" Bucky asked his son

"oh, hey dad, hey uncle Steve. it was ok, what about you guys?" He replied

"pretty uneventful" Steve responded with a smile

"just like any other missionless day" Bucky added

Peter got up and hugged them, they hugged back.

"oh, I gotta tell you something" Peter said, he carried on when he saw them nod there'sa talent show at school, would you two want to come.i mean you don't have to but ya know-" Peter started rambling only to be cut off

" of course Pete, we'll be there" Bucky said hugging his son once again

"cool, its next week by the way"

"we'll be there kiddo" Steve smiled

--next week--

it was the day of the talent show, Steve and Bucky were in the audience, so was Peters girlfriend.

"next up, we have Peter Barnes" The teacher announced. 

Peter walked on with his guitar, stood by the microphone and waited for the music to start.

he made eye contact with his girlfriend, she just sat there, mouth agape, wondering how he knew.

he focused on strumming his guitar and singing.

Steve and Bucky were surprised at how good Peter was at singing. they also wanted to know who was using him.

Peter finished the song, maintaining eye contact with his girlfriend. He got a standing ovation.

Peter won the show, he got a $50 gift card to his favorite music store and a trophy.

when they got home, they stopped on the common floor first so they could grab some food. the three of them were laughing as they walked in, Bucky had his arm around Peters shoulders, he was a truly proud dad.

"so he does have feelings" Tony announced when he saw them laughing. Peter rolled his eyes

"Back off Stark, did you never learn that if you cant find anything nice to say not to say anything at all?"

"Leave it dad, he aint worth it. if he knew that he would never speak a word to anyone. " Peter shot a web at his mouth to stop him from talking "that can come off when you find something nice to say"

the three walked back to the elevator, sniggering at the shocked faces of the avengers.

"thanks for coming guys. it means a lot" Peter said

"anything for you kid." Bucky replied

"you never told us you could sing though" Steve smiled at him.

"oh, well yeah, I can" Peter laughed

the three hugged and watched movies while eating pizza.

the web only came off Tonys mouth when he told Peter one of his tattoos was nice. he swore never to say anything bad to him again in fear of what would happen, the others were the same.
