✽SET IN THE JACKSON 5/BAD ERA✽
(Correct me if I'm wrong)

•January 10th, 1970•

You were walking home from school, your bag over your shoulder as you moved along. You had a smile on your face as you got closer to your best friend's house - the house that Michael Jackson resided in. The two of you were best friends, and had been for the past year. The two of you shared secrets, and played games when he wasn't busy at the studio. Most of the time, he was busy - but the time that the two of you spent together was priceless to you.

You always had so much fun, and nothing could take away what the two of you had.

Arriving at the gates to his house, you spotted the boy - sitting out on the porch, humming a tune. He seemed as though he were in deep thought, making you giggle a little. He was so adorable, and you adored him. He was your closest friend.

"Mike!" you cheered, making him look at you. He broke into a wide smile and stood up, running toward the gate. Opening it, he opened his arms for you to hug him. You moved forward and threw your arms around him.

"(Y/N)! I missed you today!" he pulled away to look at you. "I was at the studio for four whole hours," he rolled his eyes, making you giggle. "Come inside," he took your hand in his, using the other to push the gate closed. "There's something that I need to tell you,"

You smiled and stepped in, letting him lead you to the porch. You both sat down on the ground, and he focused on you.

"(Y/N), my family and I are....leaving," he studied you.

"L-Leaving?" you frowned.

"Tonight, I'll be leaving with my family," he responded sadly.

"What?" your jaw fell open slightly. "Where are you going?"

"I don't know, Joseph won't say anything," he let his shoulders fall slightly.

Tears formed in your eyes. "How long will you be gone for?" you asked quietly.

"Forever," he shook his head. "That's what my mother says,"

You gasped and shook your head. You couldn't bear the thought of losing Michael, he was your best friend - you loved him a great deal.

"N-No...." tears streamed down your face. "P-Please don't go," you begged.

"I don't want to leave you, but my mother really wants this for us," he placed his hand on your shoulder. "And so does Joseph. I can't let them down, and I can't say no,"

You shook your head as you began to sob. You couldn't lose Michael, you just couldn't.

"N-No," you sobbed.

But you knew that no matter how much you cried, he would have to leave home - and he would have to leave you.

It was inevitable.
