Suitcases POV
Going home that day felt odd, as I would usually sit with Balloon on the bus, but since he wasn't there today I sat by myself. The rumbling of the wheels was louder than usual. My stop arrived, letting me off as I headed towards my house, the snow falling on my coat hood. I've never seen so much snow at once, it had almost been non stop since the morning. I went up to the door, taking my key out of my backpack and inserting it into the lock. It didn't budge for a second, due to the lock needing a bit of persuasion, but the door soon opened. I set down my bag at the foot of the stairs, looking over at the table to see a mysterious bag and a note. I walked over, recognizing the bag as pet food, and picked up the note;
"Dear Suitcase,
Due to recent events at my home, I feel that it isn't safe for Clove to live with me. Sorry if this is a burden, but I'd like you to take care of her, I trust you. If you need to give her to someone else, I trust that you'll make a good choice. Love you.
-Balloon"Something felt off about the note, but nonetheless, I'm glad that he trusts me with this. I looked around, trying to locate the cat.
"Clove!" I called, but then realized that cats don't usually respond to calls like dogs do. I wandered through the house. Eventually finding her perched on a windowsill sunbathing. Her ears perked up and she meowed, stretching slightly. I smiled as a fuzzy warmth filled my heart. I've always been an animal lover. I sat next to the windowsill, letting Clove jump into my lap, and I petted her, easing my mind.
