*Violet's POV*

Clem and I have been best friends for years now...

But last night, that changed.

I really wasn't expecting it at all.

I thought she was kidding, but she was as serious as she was about her grades.

Very serious.

ClemmyClue: Violet, I've been wanting to tell you something for a while now, and I feel like I need to say it face to face. You home?

Me: You okay?

ClemmyClue: Yeah, I'm fine. It's just really important.

Me: Yeah, I'm home. Just swing on by. You know my dad doesn't care. My mom is at work and It's not like he pays attention anyways.

ClemmyClue: I already knew you were home, just come open the door.

------------

So, I went downstairs to open the door.

Unsurprisingly, the first thing Clementine did was hug me, but this time, it felt different.

"ClemenTINE, nice to see you!" My drunk dad chuckled from in the kitchen, waving with a bottle of whiskey in his other hand.

"Hi, Mr. Adlon." She waved back, ignoring the fact that he was under the influence.

At some point, it had stopped embarrassing me.

Like I grew immune to it.

"Hey, Clem. " I smiled at her and watched her eyes turn conflicted.

"Hey... Um, can we go upstairs? I have to tell you in private." She rubbed the back of her neck and looked at the floor.

I began walking up the steps with Clem close behind.

My mind was running a mile a minute, just coming up with ideas of the things she'll say.

I reached for my doorknob slowly and turned it hesitantly.

She'd locked the door behind us.

Clem had been here a thousand times, maybe more...

She took her shoes off and laid on my bed.

"So, I want to be straight forward about this Violet. " She sighed.

"About what?" I questioned her, laying down next to her.

A silence filled the room and it made me uncomfortable.

Clementine was usually talkative, so it's kind of weird to see her like this.

"Okay... So... Um... " She started off with a shaky voice.

She took a deep breath and cleared her throat.

"Violet, I... Like you... a lot, and um, I hope we can be more than friends. " She whispered to me, looking up at the ceiling.

That's why I started to have, what Louis calls a moment of 'Gay panic'.

I sat up at looked at her, not really knowing what to say.

She sat up on her knees and locked eyes with me.

My heart started beating faster and faster and I couldn't function.

"You know, like... Girlfriends. " Clem concluded.

I could feel my face turning red.

I took a deep breath, finally coming back to reality.

This is something I've wanted for a long time, so why not take advantage of the opportunity.

"I... Also... Yes. Yeah. Me as well. " My brain shut down.

That was literally all I could get out.

Clementine found this amusing and chuckled.

She leaned in and kissed me.

I could function enough to kiss her back.

The kiss was soft...

It felt like it had lasted hours, but in reality, it was only a few seconds.

When she pulled back, the look on her face was priceless.

Her eyes were wide like she couldn't believe what had just happened.

Meanwhile, I was still in my moment of gay panic.

"Holy shit. " Was all I could say.

She leaned in and kissed me again.

This time it felt natural and I knew it was coming.

She wrapped her arms around my neck and we just kept kissing.

Lips all over each other's bodies, exploring for hours.

Eventually, we were undressed and a lot of stuff happened after that.

Stuff that I wouldn't have thought would happen in a million years.

-----------------

Next morning, I woke up...

 With her in my bed.

My best friend... Girlfriend... Whatever...

Thoughts of what happened still lingering in my mind.

I sighed and pushed my hair back out of my face.

I turned over to Clementine and saw she was on her phone.

"Good morning." She chuckled at my red face.

Once I finally woke all the way up, I was in shock.

"Oh, my god, it wasn't a dream."
