*Violet's POV*

"Clem."

No response.

"Clem."

No response.

"Clem."

A groan in response.

"Yes, Violet?" She woke up with an agitated tone.

"Sorry for waking you up. But, I can't sleep."

"It's okay. Just try to go back to sleep." She groaned again, trying to go back to sleep.

"I did. I can't sleep. I wouldn't have woken you up otherwise."

"What's on your mind? Something wrong?" She turned and faced me with a curious tone.

"I don't know." I lied straight through my teeth.

"Ugh, Violet, you do know."

I began fidgeting with my fingers knowing she would begin to pry sooner or later.

"Violet, talk to me... You know you can tell me anything." She grabbed my hand and looked at me.

"Well..." I took a deep breath.

She gave me sad eyes, listening to what I was about to say.

"Clem... You know... every day you go to work, I'm scared you won't come home... Not because I think something is gonna happened to you... But... I'm scared that you'll... meet somebody else... and... You won't come... home. To me."

"Violet. We've been dating since we were 15... It's been ten years. You think I'm gonna throw that away?" She chuckled at me.

"Well, I don't know. I trust you. I'm just scared sometimes. I love you... Like a lot and I'm scared of losing you." My sad eyes met hers.

"Do you see how attractive you are? Clementine, you're basically a goddess. Any given second, someone could snatch you away from me. I'm terrified of that."

"Stop. Because I love you too much to leave you... or cheat. I can't even say it without wanting to throw up. You're my wife. Nobody will ever make me happy like you... I know Minerva fucked up your trust, but you can trust me."

"How about I make a promise?" She offered and it wasn't easy to decline.

"Depends on what it is." I pretended like I wasn't going to give in the first second.

"I, Clementine Jade Marsh, promise to stay loyal, loving, caring, and most importantly, true to you and only you." She put a hand over her heart and smiled throughout her promise.

"Pinky promise? Those are more likely to be kept." My voice cracked a little.

"Pinky promise." She hooked our pinkies together.

"I love you, Clementine."

"I love you too."

Silence.

Not awkward, but peaceful.

"Now what? Because I still can't sleep."

"You woke me up, so neither can I."

"Sorry."

"It's okay... Wanna get nuggets?"

"Y E S."

"Let's go."
