Kol's pov

I enter the living room of the compound and toss my packed duffel bag on the couch "Kol I don't think it's wise to go out there just yet" Elijah says making me scoff "nonsense Elijah. I'm going to New York and I'm going to see my girlfriend, she properly needs comfort right now" I respond as I put on my leather jacket. "Kol you can't get to New York. All flights going to and from New York are cancelled and the roads are blocked off. It's been said on the news all flights and roads heading towards New York will be off limits for at least a week or two while the city is being cleared up" Rebekah explains "well I can't wait a week never mind two weeks to see my girlfriend so don't try to stop me" I respond "you can't just up and leave when we're still dealing with our parents and traitor brother" Klaus says "oh bollocks to them. I've had it up to here with them and I'm not going let them stop me from seeing my girlfriend. It's been 3 very long months since I've seen Davina and it's killing me" I retort no way am I staying here any longer than I need too. "At least wait until tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest" Elijah says I open my mouth to respond but I'm cut off by the tv as the news comes back on and I instantly turn my attention away from Elijah as the news reporter is talking about the New York incident. "Crisis has been diverted. Loki and his army of aliens have been stopped thanks to a group of extraordinary people that are being deemed as superheroes due to their strength and power" the news reporter announces "now that the crisis has been dealt with there's still a lot to deal with. The city is in complete devastation from the attack, there are a few casualties and many people injured, some buildings have been completely destroyed during the attack leaving many questions about what action will be taken. There's already been talk of the city council taking action and pinning the blame on the superheroes" the reporter explains a clip pops up of a middle aged man dressed in a suit and speaking to a reporter. "This attack was unnecessary, measures were being taken to ensure the problem was being dealt with. We didn't need these so called superheroes putting on a freak show" the man says making me scowl "what a wanker" Rebekah says "they saved the day though" the reporter says "yes but at what cost? Buildings were destroyed, people were injured and a few have been killed" the man replies "excuse me sir but wasn't it the council that ordered the nuclear strike?" the reporter questions "no comment" the man replies "it is true isn't it? The council ordered the nuclear strike on New York which would've resulted in more casualties than there already has been" the reporter says the man instantly starts backing away "no comment now go away" the man says before scurrying inside the building. The news then goes back to the reporter "the council may not be thrilled with today's events but we do owe these heroes our gratitude for their bravery, strength and hard work for New York and everyone in it may very well be lost it wasn't for them" the reporter says clearing her throat "here's my co reporter Gary with more information about the heroes and what's going to happen next" she says the tv switches to a man. "Hello Sarah hope everything's alright back there. I'm in New York and behind me you can see some of the devastation of what's happened. Cars, rubble from fallen or cracked buildings and glass are everywhere. It's going to take a while for this mess to get cleaned up but Billionaire Tony Stark has said he will be giving a hand in cleaning up the city" the reporter explains the screen splits in half and shows the other reporter. "Tony Stark is also Iron Man one of the heroes that took part in fighting Loki and his army. He has quite some history with this sort of thing as he's battled terrorists but it was his father that recovered the blue cube from the ocean. The blue cube is what Loki had stolen and it was cause of the portal. Is there anything we should know about this cube Gary?" the female reporter asks "the cube is called the tesseract and it was discovered by Hydra leader red skull in the 1940's during world war II. Red skull had apparently found the tesseract in a secret temple in Norway after believing gods had left behind some of their power. The Hydra leader used the cube to try and make weapons and make himself more powerful but was stopped by the man we know as Captain America" Gary explains pictures pop up on the screen one picture is of the hydra logo, one picture is of a man with a red face, one is of carvings from a temple and one is of Captain America. "Interesting. Now that Loki and his army have been stopped what do you think is going to happen with the tesseract?" the woman reporter questions "there is talk that it will go straight back into SHIELDS custody or even the government but there have been arguments from the Asgardians insisting the cube is taken to Asgard" the male reporter responds "Asgardians? As in there's more than one on earth other than Thor and Loki?" the woman asks "yes there is some speculation that the brunette who disposed of the missile and destroyed the rest of the alien army is Asgardian" the man replies "is this claim coming from SHIELD or the footage that has surfaced about her?" the woman reporter asks "the claim comes from the fact her attire and her powers are similar to that of Thor's. We still haven't quite got a name for her but people are nick naming her the fire enchantress due to the fact her powers seem to consist of fire" the man replies "while today has been a very eventful day and there will no doubt many more long nights ahead of this incident. The government are critical of the heroes and are insisting they pay for the damage but many others believe otherwise as in the midst of all the chaos the heroes have gotten themselves some fans and are very thankful for what they've done" the woman replies the screen switches to some other reporter standing in front a couple of kids. "Did you see any of the heroes?" the reporter asks "we saw Iron man and the fire girl. They were really awesome" one young boy says "I saw Thor I like his hair" one girl gushes the screen then switches to other people talking about the heroes. A woman holding a child appears "I don't know exactly what the government are saying about them but they are wrong, these people are good. They've saved a lot of people today more than they could ever know. That girl who risked her life saved my life, I was nearly dead but she saved me, not willing to leave my daughter without a mother and she protected my daughter from those aliens" the woman says "we owe these heroes our gratitude because if it wasn't for them, many of us wouldn't be here now. I wouldn't be here and my daughter would be an orphan or worse she could be dead so instead of scolding and shaming these people just because they're strong and can do more than most people ever could, we should praise and embrace them for we need people like them" the woman continues "do you agree that it's the heroes fault this happened?" the reporters "not at all, why should they be blamed for something they had no control over. The people with high ranking statuses only blame them because they were the only ones who had the guts to do something" the woman replies the screen switches again showing more people talking about Davina and the other heroes. The news comes to an end "just one thing Gary. What has happened with the war criminal Loki and where are the heroes now?" the news woman asks "Loki has been taking into SHIELD custody by SHIELD agents and as for the heroes they are currently resting up but they will be attending a meeting tomorrow morning with the leaders of America. There they will reportedly discuss what will happen with Loki and what will happen with the tesseract. So make sure to tune in at 8 am tomorrow as the meeting is going to be streamed live" the male reporter explains "that will be interesting to watch, thank you Gary and good day" the woman reporter replies before the news finishes and Rebekah turns off the tv. "Hydra? Didn't we have an encounter with Hydra in the 1940's?" Rebekah questions "well Elijah and I did, they tried to ambush and imprison me and Elijah so they could take our blood for experiments but of course I got away and killed them" Klaus replies "I never knew the leader looked like that nor did I know he went by the name red skull" Elijah says "yeah well he's gone now thanks to that Captain America guy" Rebekah says "what about that tesseract?" Klaus asks "what about it?" I ask him "they said it was found in a temple in Norway. Our family original originates from there, mother and father lived there before our older sister died from the plague" Elijah says cutting in for Klaus. "Did mother know of any temples?" Rebekah asks "no all or most temples were destroyed. Perhaps that secret temple was built after the viking era" Elijah replies "maybe not" I respond "what makes you think that? If there had been a secret temple then it would've been discovered" Klaus says "only if someone knew where to look. This red skull guy found it after believing the gods left some of their power behind and you know the only gods we know of is the Norse gods. Hello Davina, her father, her uncle and her grandparents. They're Norse gods and vikings believed heavily in the Norse gods" I point out "why are you asking about the tesseract anyway? If you say you want it you better get that thought out of your damn head" Rebekah says "no I don't want it, I'm just curious plus I have a feeling if I tried to get the tesseract it wouldn't end well with Davina not after the trouble it's caused with her father" Klaus replies "good that you think that way because having something like that would cause us more trouble. Just imagine if you had it and mother found out, she would be groveling and scheming to get it and we don't want someone like her to get her hands on the tesseract"  I say "well knowing Davina she will probably make sure the tesseract goes to Asgard to avoid any more bad situations like today" Hayley speaks up "I'm going to try and get hold of her before I hit the road" I say "I thought her phone was broken" Rebekah says "yeah but that Agent Barton gave Cami a number that I could call him on if I want to get in contact with her" I respond "okay but are you sure you have to leave? You won't be able to get anywhere near New York so soon after the incident" Elijah says "I can compel people to let me through, I don't care how long it takes me to get there. I just want to see my girlfriend, I'm worried for her well being. She's been feeling off for a while now and this whole thing with her father has probably really unsettled her. My girl needs me and I need to be there for her" I respond "fine we won't stop you from going knowing how much you miss Davina but at least wait until morning. Me and Elijah will cause a distraction so our parents and Finn don't notice you leaving. We can't have them seeing you leave because then they'll most likely send someone following after you and you don't want your reunion with Davina to be interrupted by the hands of our mother or father do you?" Klaus questions making me sighs "fine but you better come up with something good because the second the sun rises, I'm getting out of here and I'm going to New York" I respond grabbing my duffel bag before vamp speeding upstairs to my room.
