Y/n's POV:It's been a week since Ariana told her family that we're dating and I have yet to tell mine. However, I'm hoping to tell them, while I'm home this Saturday. Ariana really wanted to come, but I told her dozens of times that I'm just not ready for that. Plus, I worry that if I bring her, then my bad luck from my childhood will take her away from me. So, I left an annoyed Ariana back in New York, and now I'm in California, taking a taxi to meet my mother at the hospital. My brother had to go in for his weekly appointments and observations, so I decided I would just meet them there, rather than wait for them at the house alone. He's been getting help for his lungs for a few years now and it's really helped him.
-At The Hospital-
"Y/n!" My brother Sam yells, coughing a little at the end, as I walk into the room.
"Hey buddy, hows it hanging?"
"Dude, you did not just talk to me like I'm a teenager, we're the same god damn age! Now get over here and give me a hug"
I walk closer and he pulls me into a tight hug.
"Still as strong as ever I see"
"I'v been working out as much as the doctors will let me. I hate having to stay in bed all day haha" he says.
"Lucky, wish I could sit in bed all day"
He was about to fight me on why I wouldn't, when our mother came walking into the room.
"Hey mom" I tell her.
"Y/n my darling!" She says engulfing me in a hug.
"How have you been? You haven't called or FaceTimed in weeks?" She asks.
"Yeah Y/n, what's going on, you got a boyfriend or something?" Sam jokes.
If only he knew, he'd probably shit himself.
"Well not exactly, I may have someone in my life, but I'v also been quite busy with my new job."
I see their eyes go wide and I know it's because I mentioned possibly being in a relationship. I haven't been in one, since my junior year of high school. It didn't go well and the dude treated me like trash. Ariana is the first in over 7 years, I'v let even get a little close to me.
"Well don't just keep us hanging who is the guy?" My mother asks.
"Yeah I wanna know if I'm gonna need to kick his ass or not" Sam says chiming in.
"You're not kicking anyone's ass, and uh it's so of complicated."
I was gonna continue, but a nurse came in saying that she needed to take Sam to do his tests. He wiggled his eyebrows at me as he left and I rolled my eyes at him.
My mother and I started talking and after about 30minutes she asked about my job.
"So, are you gonna tell me about this new job?" My mother asks.
"Oh yeah, Laura and I were having a drunk dance off at a bar one night and to our luck and surprise, Ariana Grandes dance manager was there and saw our skills. She offered us a dancing job to work with Ariana, and so yeah it's been fun and crazy for the past couple weeks."
"Well damn. I can't believe my girl is working along side a celebrity. I'm so proud of you, you know that right?" She tells me.
I just nod my head, I have to tell her about Ariana.
"I um I am in a relationship" I tell her nervously.
"Really? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to sweetie"
"No I do, I'm just worried about how you will react" I tell her.
She raises an eyebrow and I know she's probably thinking the worst.
"It's no one bad, I promise. It's just uh..."
I gulp before looking back into her eyes.
"I'm uh dating a girl"
I don't know why it was so hard for me to tell her. She's literally been with me for so many years now. But something inside me just won't stop telling me that she's gonna be snatched away from me. Just like my previous life and my father. I'm worried that she might reject me and then I'll be all alone again.
"Well is she nice?" She asks.
"W-what?"
"Is she nice Y/n? You're girlfriend?" She asks me again.
I'm dazed but also happy that she's okay with this.
"Yes she's very nice"
"That's good. What's her name? Do I know her?" She asks.
"Well actually that's the thing-"
"Ms. Y/L/N"
We both turn our heads to see a nurse at the door with a worried face.
"Yes that's me?" My mother says.
"Um uh it's about Sam" the nurse says.
I feel my heart rate speed up.
"What about him?"
"We did his scans and found that his lungs are infected"
"What does that mean?" My mom asks.
"Well he should be fine, we're going to prescribe him an antibiotic"
I let the air I had held in finally out in relief that my brother wasn't in any danger.
"Okay, thank you for letting me know"
"However, he will have to sit tight until it clears, so no exercising" The nurse tells her.
"What?! I can't workout? That's so unfair" I hear Sam say behind the nurse.
He was being brought back in by another nurse and must have heard in on our conversation.
"Oh Sam you will survive, I mean it's for your health" my mom teases.
He pouts and we all burst into laughter.
The rest of the day I spent hanging out with my mother and brother back at our house. We got so caught up with everything, that I never did get to tell my mother about Ariana.
To Be Continued....
Sorry that I kinda left this chapter on a weird note, but I just couldn't anymore and I honestly wrote everything that I intended for it.
