I sit in my seat, staring at my desk bored. The teacher is 7 minutes late; and so is Reece. I sigh, glancing at the door as it opens. In he walks, hands stuffed in his pockets, head down low. I feel a smile spread across my lips as he takes his seat next to me, still not looking up. "Hey Reece," I say. Reece doesn't look up. "Are you okay?"

Reece sighs, lifting his head. A gasp escapes my mouth. His eyes is a dark shade of purple and it's swollen shut. "Oh my god! Reece, what happened?" I ask, my eyes wide.

"Well, when I was coming to school, you're brother and his stupid jock friends jumped on me," Reece says, making sure to emphasize the word 'you're'. I frown, moving close to him.

"I'm so sorry Reece!" I said, leaning over to gently stroke his cheek.

Reece swallows hard. "They told me to stay away from you," he says, quietly his voice.

I smile slightly, "He told me the exact same thing." Reece smiles back, grabbing my hand off of his cheek. He rubs his thumbs over my knuckles, causing me to blush. "I'm sorry they hurt you Reece."

"No, it doesn't hurt." He looks up at me, his smile turning to a smirk. "Physically. My pride is a little hurt though..." I chuckle, smacking his arm. It makes no impact. That makes Reece start to laugh.

"I really am sorry, Reece," I say, making my face serious.

"It's alright Lia," he says with a grin. "Really!" I smile at the new nickname. Lia. I like that.

reece and I sat in his room, going through our Chemistry textbook. "So," I say awkwardly sitting on Reece's bed. He rolls around in a blue office chair, glancing up at me. "How's your eye?"

Reece chuckles, "It's fine Amelia. It doesn't hurt- like I said." I give him a small smile, looking back down at my textbook.

After a few more minutes of silence, I look up at him. Reece's still looking at his textbook, lost in thought. I smile, biting my bottom lip. My eyes outlined his perfectly shaped lips, feeling my heart beat increase. I looked around his body, eyeing the black ink covering his body. "Like what you see?" Reece asks, a smirk growing on his face. A blush broke across my face, and I look away. I hear Reece laughing. I shrug my shoulders, staring at the text in my book. I feel something on my leg, so I look up and my eyes are met with Reece's beautiful dark green ones. He smiles at me innocently, pushing my book away. I inhale deeply, feeling my stomach begin to do backflips. Reece's hands are on my thighs, rubbing them gently.

He begins to move closer to me, his eyes moving from my eyes to my lips. I want to kiss him, so badly. So badly...

Reece's lips are only two inches away, when I stop him. "We can't. Reece, J-James could hurt you again."

He shakes his head, continuing to lean in. "Let him. It'd be worth it." Reece's lips are almost on mine, when his bedroom door flings open.

"Reece, what did you- Oh, hello there," a woman, probably in her 30's or so, smiles warmly at me. Reece abruptly pulls away, biting on his bottom lip. "Reece, are you going to introduce me to your... friend?"

Reece smiles weakly, "Mum, this is Amelia. Amelia, this is my mum." I smile up at Reece's mother, standing up. She walks over, grabbing my hand.

"I'm Lyndsey," she introduces herself.

"Amelia," I reply, feeling my heart beating against my rib cage. I can't believe that: 1. I almost kissed Reece, and 2. That his mum walked in on us. Lyndsey smiles, looking from me to Reece.

"Well, I'll leave you two alone. It was nice meeting you Amelia," Lyndsey says, pulling away. She smiles once again, leaving the room.

I swallow, turning back around to face Reece. "Your mum seems very nice," I say.

Reece sighs, "Yeah. She is." We stand in silence for a while, when he looks back at me. "I'm sorry she, uh, you know."

I nod, clearing my throat. "I-It's fine." Reece sighs, walking over to me. He opens his arms, and pulls me into them. I lay my head on his chest, exhaling loudly.

I shut my eyes, wrapping my arms around his torso. Reece smooth's down my hair, kissing my forehead gently. I reopen my eyes, and look up at him. Reece smiles down at me, "What?"

I smile back. "Nothing." He slowly pulls away from me, but keeps my hand in his. "We better... umm, get back to work."

"Yeah. We should," he nods, grabbing his book off of the floor. He sits back down, opening up the book. He flips through some pages, before finally finding the one he must have wanted. I swallow hard, sitting down on his bed. I grab my book and start reading, my mind racing.
