I spent the morning catching up with Ann the manager. Today was December 18th which meant Christmas was next week. I'd been so wrapped up with Lorenzo I'd forgotten about presents. I had so many people to buy for this year. Lorenzo along with his parents, Danny, Kat, Amy, Noah, Zack, Theo, Kai, Lucas and the twins. I didn't know what to get any of the guys I felt like Lorenzo should get something more personal rather than materialistic. I finished seating a elderly couple before I headed for my lunch break.
"I'm going to the office, Lorenzo should be coming send him up" I informed Allie who was the hostess for tonight.
"I will keep a eye out for him. I can't wait to finally see the man that has you walking like that" I slapped her arm playfully laughing leaving her to host. I opened my laptop to check emails, I had a few employees to call for Danny to make sure they will be on shift tonight at the bar.
"Hi it's Veronica I'm calling to see how you're feeling and if you would be in tonight" I spoke in the nicest way I could.
"I'm much better I'll see you tonight" Elliot replied.
"Great Lorenzo and I will see you tonight" I ended the call.
"Who are we seeing tonight?" Lorenzo asked walking towards me.
"I was just on the phone to Elliot. Danny wanted me to make sure he was working tonight" I explained.
"I forgot we had that shift tonight" Lorenzo muttered sat on my sofa.
"I got us a table" I took his hand leading him out the office. I sent a text to Allie while leading Lorenzo out to the roof. I had the rooftop furnished ready for spring. However today wasn't that cold meaning we could eat out here.

"I never saw this part of the restaurant" Lorenzo let go of my hand allowing him to walk around the rooftop. He pulled out a chair for me which I graciously sat in. Ann had sent Tom who'd just came through the door to be our waiter for today. Tom was one of the youngest that worked for me, he was 19 in college working on any free day he could. I saw his work ethic stand out far more than other people his age. This boy was going places and it would be wise for me to help him now and see what happened in the future.
"My name is Tom I'm going to be your waiter for today" he introduced himself.
"Can I get you any drinks while you look at the menu?" I wait for Lorenzo to order before I ordered a simple Coke. I had a bar built on the rooftop to save people having to run up and down. I know what I wanted I wasn't that hungry I had eaten a slice of carrot cake from the kitchen less than a hour ago. Lorenzo ordered first and I ordered a grilled chicken caesar salad.
"I will be back with your food" Tom left us to talk. Lorenzo put his phone facing down on to the table I did the same not wanting any distractions from the short time we'd have together in peace.
