One night while they were lying on the bed together, about to go to sleep, Song Jia said, "I want to see Nian Shou."

Ever since the royal ball, she hadn't once seen him. Song Jia knew that her disappearance must have worried them, but she hesitated to tell Xiang Feng because he was close to the crown princess. As much as possible, she didn't want to drag them into this mess.

However, she currently had no idea of what was happening in the outside world. She needed to know if their plan had been smoothly going forward. Xiang Feng had truly kept her like a canary in a cage, only staying by his side, never going out.

But...this stalemate couldn't last forever.

She needed to talk to Nian Shou.

When Song Jia didn't hear his response, she repeated, "I want to see Nian..."

"Try speaking his name again!"

Xiang Feng sat up. He was obviously agitated, his teeth clenched tightly together. He looked at Song Jia with a ferocious look.

Ever since he was young, he always saw the two of them together. The one who could help her lift the painting was him, the one who could help her reach up for things was him, the one who was always mistaken for her husband was him...and right now, even when he had grown taller and stronger than Nian Shou, she still looked for him?

He was right in front of her!

Why did she have to look for somebody else?

Song Jia noticed his jealousy and hurriedly added, "I just needed to talk to him. That's all."

"What do you need to tell him that you can't talk to me about?" Xiang Feng glared at her. "Tell me!"

Song Jia pursed her lips. Of course she didn't dare to talk to him about it. No matter what, he was Princess Bai Xue's lover in her past life. If he knew that she was planning to usurp the crown princess from her throne...Song Jia was still uncertain as to whom he would choose between them. That uncertainty kept her from telling him about her plans.

Seeing that she had kept silent and didn't want to tell him, Xiang Feng became insecure. His chest felt stifled, like there was a huge rock pressing down on it.

"Do you like him?" he asked hoarsely. "Jia, do you like Nian Shou?"

It was as if he was stabbing himself with each word that came out of his mouth.

"In the past eight years, you said you didn't take a husband, but did anything happen between the two of you? Did he kiss you?"

The wound inside his chest didn't spill a single drop of blood, but it was more painful than anything he had ever experienced. Enduring the pain coursing through his veins, he asked her, "Did you sleep with him?"

Pa!

Song Jia slapped him.

She hit him with all of her strength, but Xiang Feng didn't flinch, his eyes still looking at her, waiting for her answer. It was her hand that hurt instead.

"Even if you're jealous, you should still be more conscious about how your careless words can hurt others!" she said coldly.

Xiang Feng's eyes didn't waver. Insistently, as if life depended on her answer, he asked, "Did he touch you?"

Song Jia was angry. She knew he was jealous, but jealousy should still have a bottom line!

"Touch me? What does it matter to you if he touched me?"

"It matters," he told her with a serious look. "Jia, it matters to me."

"Why? If he had touched me, would you feel disgusted?"
