Song Jia watched the dog-blood drama play across the large TV screen while she lay on the bed like a salted fish, her body drained of energy.

"You scum! How many times have you fooled around with that green tea bitch? How could you do this to me? How..."

The female lead cried big tears that gently rolled down her cheeks, like falling raindrops.

"How could you betray our love like this? Wuwu~"

The male lead knelt in front of her, his eyes red.

"It's my fault, it's my fault, Jiao Jiao, don't cry. It was a mistake, a mistake I will forever regret. You know that you're the only one inside my heart."

The two main leads cried together, while sad music played on the background. Song Jia watched the two of them embracing each other, until she suddenly heard the bedroom door opening.

Instantly, she turned off the TV, closed her eyes, and pretended to be dead.

Song Jia's heart was beating quickly. This grandma was really scared just now, ah~ For almost a month, Lin Yitian had tossed her every day without fail, experimenting new positions, and exhausting all of her energy. She even stopped doing yoga because she knew Lin Yitian would make her body do non-stop exercises all night.

Song Jia heard Lin Yitian's footsteps grow closer, and tried to even out her breathing. She felt the bed softly sink under his weight, and his hands gently brushed her hair away from her cheeks.

"Jia?" His voice asked, only above a whisper. "Are you asleep?"

Song Jia wrinkled her forehead lightly as he touched her, but kept taking slow and deep breaths as if she was only reacting subconsciously.

She felt Lin Yitian slowly gather her body inside his arms, his face buried in her hair.

She felt his lips move against her ear as he told her his grievances, "I can't work well when I can't see you. I also don't want to make you tired, but you kept seducing me. It's all Jia's fault."

Song Jia's eyelids twitched. When did she seduce him?

Unaware of Song Jia's inner sulking, Lin Yitian continued complaining, "Actually, I'm also a bit tired. But to see Xiao Hua as soon as possible, I have to work hard. Jia, Xiao Hua is depending on us. So we can only sacrifice our bodies for our little daughter."

Lin Yitian wanted to talk more, but it seemed that his voice had disturbed Song Jia in her sleep. Her knee rose up and kicked him in the stomach, before she turned her back on him and continued sleeping.

Lin Yitian's body was physically fit, so Song Jia's kick didn't really hurt him. He smiled, and took away the remote control that was on the bed. The TV could actually be turned on by voice control, but Song Jia insisted to use the remote. After all, that was a historical artifact in the 23rd century.

Lin Yitian placed the remote control on the bedside table before he drew Song Jia back into his arms. He lay on his back and carefully put Song Jia's head on his chest.

Stroking her hair, Lin Yitian reached out with his free hand and slowly placed the laptop he brought next to him. Because he was now managing several companies, Lin Yitian was really busy. He couldn't afford to miss work, but he couldn't relax without Song Jia by his side either.

He dimmed the brightness on the screen and the hand that was stroking Song Jia's hair covered her ear so that she wouldn't be disturbed by his typing. It was a difficult position for Lin Yitian, as he could only strain his neck and type with one hand. What's more, a laptop wasn't as good as a desktop. And it only had a single monitor, so it slowed down his work efficiency.

But for Lin Yitian, this was a lot better than working inside that boring study without Song Jia by his side.

Who told him to be so sticky to her? Lin Yitian could only blame himself.

Song Jia had her eyes closed, so she didn't know what he was doing. Because Song Jia was indeed tired, it wasn't long before she truly fell asleep inside his arms.

...

Rong Jingfei once again drank tea with Song Jia inside the back garden of the mansion. Only a few weeks passed, but Rong Jingfei was now much thinner than she used to be, with dark and heavy circles underneath her eyes.

"Sister Rong, you have to believe that it's not your fault. And you have to stop making excuses for him. The truth is that he had betrayed your trust."

Song Jia was holding Rong Jingfei's hands while advising her. She had given Rong Jingfei the USB that was full of incriminating evidence against Lin Shenglan a few days ago, and it was only now that Rong Jingfei came to find her.

She had spent hours crying to Song Jia and talking that Lin Shenglan must have a reason for doing it, maybe it was a one-time thing, or maybe she was managing their relationship poorly. Song Jia felt her heart ache looking at Rong Jingfei's eyes that looked red and puffy because of her constant crying. Song Jia knew how much Lin Shenglan meant to her.

"Sister Rong, if you really want to forgive him, you know I won't be able to stop you. But...someone like brother-in-law, who hides it from you and could even lie to your face without blinking...I don't think he's a good person, Sister Rong."

Rong Jingfei wiped away her tears and gazed at Song Jia with bloodshot eyes.

"But...Jia, aren't you scared? If Shenglan is the person you say he is...then what about your fiancé? Aren't you scared that he might turn out to be the same as him? They have the same blood running in their veins, after all."

Song Jia had already told her about the swap, so Rong Jingfei stopped calling her 'Qiqi' and began calling her 'Jia' instead.

"Yitian is different than him," Song Jia said confidently.

With the way he stuck to her like her own shadow, when would he even have the time to seek for another woman?

Hearing Song Jia's response, Rong Jingfei lowered her eyes and didn't continue the conversation. She had been confident about Lin Shenglan too, up until she watched those lewd videos of him and his secretary. Rong Jingfei was in denial before, too heartbroken to see clearly.

But Song Jia's words...when Rong Jingfei heard them, she also felt that she was right. She was not the one at fault, but Lin Shenglan. It was the same with her parents, when her father told her years before that she actually had a half-brother. It wasn't her mother's fault, but her father's.

Men simply thought with their lower bodies. As soon as they were tempted by a beautiful face, they would simply forget about love and trust. Rong Jingfei felt deep hatred bubble up inside her.

"Sister Rong, you should just forget about him. He doesn't deserve you," Song Jia told her earnestly.

Looking up at Song Jia's worried expression, Rong Jingfei bit her lip. She felt that Song Jia was the only one true friend she had. She could only survive what Lin Shenglan had done to her because of Song Jia.

A determined expression flashed across Rong Jingfei's face. Song Jia was too innocent and pure. Rong Jingfei felt that since Song Jia protected her from marrying a scum like Lin Shenglan, she should also protect her too.

For the first time in weeks, Rong Jingfei lifted her lips in a small smile.

"Jia...you're right. Scum men like Shenglan...they don't deserve our trust at all."
