The next day at lunch, most of the second-year Gryffindors sat together. All of them still couldn't get over the fact that Ron and Harry flew the car to Hogwarts.
"I can imagine how mad your mum will be." Hope said while taking a bit of a carrot. "If I did that, Papa might actually lose it."
Neville looked up at the owls. "Mail's here, Gran is sending a few things I forgot. Oh, and some macarons for you Hope."
"That is why she is my favorite Gran to walk the earth." Hope grinned.
Errol landed on the table roughly, making Ron gasp with fright. "Oh, no."
"It's alright, Ron, she's still alive." Hermione tried to assure. "See?"
"It's not that, it's this." the ginger boy pointed to the red envelope.
Seamus chuckled and spoke in a thick irish accent. "Look, Weasley's got himself a howler."
Hope looked to Ron with sympathy. "I got one last year. Those things are scary."
"Go on, Ron. It's better to face it then ignore it." Neville sympathized.
The letter opened when Ron barely touched it. "RONALD WEASLEY! HOW DARE YOU STEAL THAT CAR, I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED! YOUR FATHER IS FACING AN INQUIRY AT WORK AND IT'S ENTIRELY YOUR FAULT! IF YOU PUT ANOTHER TOE OUT OF LINE I'LL BRING YOU STRAIGHT HOME!" the letter then tore itself to shreds.
"Remind me to never upset your mother." Hermione commented.
