One of the biggest misunderstandings a healthy guy would have is when another man thought he’s gay for him. Thus an awkward scenario aroused when Hoshi and Mingyu ended up eating together on the same table.

‘This is professor (Y/n)’s boyfriend,’ Mingyu thinks while looking at him.

‘This guy has a crush on me,’ Hoshi thinks on the other side.

Two different thoughts but all have one cause – (Y/n)’s dumbness.

“It’s rare to see you eat at the canteen, professor Kwon,” Mingyu tried to be polite by smiling ear to ear.

‘Look at him getting all giddy by my presence!’ Hoshi cried inwardly. He picked up his spoon with trembling hands as he answered, “Some of the teachers spilled ink at the faculty room. It is stinking so bad.”

Nodding, Mingyu responded, Ahhh I see.” Then he continued eating his lunch.

The canteen was never been quiet. There are always girls giggling and men squabbling around. Yet amidst of those noises, it is proper to say that the two were occupied with a silent silence.

Mingyu doesn’t want to be childish.

Hoshi doesn’t want to interact with him.

Therefore, lunchtime could end peacefully. Maybe (?).

[My boyfie~ Where are you? Let’s eat lunch together my love] a text message sent by you.

Hoshi almost spill out his food when he saw your message popping onto his phone screen. What scared him is the idea of Mingyu reading the same message. And he did! When Mingyu have read your message, he had that stern reaction on his celebrity-like face.

‘He got jealous!’ Hoshi guessed inside his head.

Sure he does. Mingyu got jealous but… Hoshi is thinking in a very diverse reason.

And because he can’t hold his anger anymore, Hoshi stood up and said, “Student Mingyu, follow me and let’s talk.”

At the rooftop where Professor decided to have a secret conversation with Mingyu, the wind is unsteady. The weather looks bad as if it will rain any moment. If Mingyu and Hoshi have wigs, winds could fly it up. Mingyu wanted to suggest of changing the location but he couldn’t since Hoshi is his superior. And so, he endured receiving face slap by the strong wind.

“I respect your feelings,” Hoshi suddenly spoke up with serious tone.

Surprise by it, Mingyu is unable to respond immediately. He blinks his eyes while listening.

“But I am already dating (Y/n). So please, stop loving a person you shouldn’t love,” Hoshi added as he placed his hand on his left chest. “It is a sin.”

Because Mingyu already confessed his feelings for you, he thought that he was talking about Mingyu’s unrequited love for Hoshi’s  girlfriend.

“No,” Mingyu answered. “Even though it is impossible, even though loving that someone is a sin, I won’t stop having these feelings. This is my first love. We maybe walking at the tough spot (because of age and status as teacher and student), but my love won’t change.”

‘Tough spot? Ahhh. Because he is a student and I am a teacher. And also because we are both men,’ Hoshi is lost at those thoughts.

“So please. If you aren’t dating Professor (Y/n) seriously, then just break up with her,” Mingyu suggested.

“Why?” Hoshi asked while gritting his teeth. “If we broke up, are you going to date ME?!”

Another strong wind shook their hairs.

A loud thunder cracked the sky and the two scaredy cat dashed inside. Mingyu closed the rooftop’s door and looked back at his professor.

‘What the hell did I hear again?’ Mingyu is dumbfounded.

“Just be thankful that I am dating (Y/n) all for our benefits,” Hoshi said. “Please forget everything after this. Bye.” Then he walked out.

Mingyu is a top student who excels in every subjects. He is smart enough to memorize formula like: x+1 over x3 –x or y1(t) =a1 sin (b1t) and y2 (t) =a2 cos (b2t).

But after his conversation with Hoshi, his supposedly smart brain told him this:

“Does Professor Kwon dating Professor (Y/n) because he wanted to hide the fact that he is gay? And he likes me?!”

  The fifth misunderstanding arrived.

On the other hand, you have met Hoshi while going back to the faculty room. “Honey!” you called while waving your hands.

His pale face turned even more white.

‘I can’t break up with her. Argh!’ he complained while dragging his feet towards your.

“Where did you go? I’ve been searching for you,” you asked.

After a sigh, he uttered, “I had a talk with Mingyu.”

  “Oh? Mingyu?!”

  “Yes. I know everything (Y/n).”

‘Hoshi knows that Mingyu likes me?’ You thought.

‘I know that Mingyu likes me,’ Hoshi thinks.

“W-What did you say to him?” you inquired.

“I said that you and I are dating. And he is really jealous,” Hoshi said, brushing his messy hair with his hand.

Mingyu looks very serious,” you sighed.

“He does. He also said that he won’t stop,” Hoshi shared.

“Maybe, we should break up for a moment,” you suggested.

“Yeah,” Hoshi nodded then diverted his widened eyes back to you. “Wait. What?! What did you say?”

Hoshi will surely agree that you two should break up since this relationship started from a misunderstanding. But he didn’t expect he’ll hear this very soon!

“It’s the best choice, I think,” you said. “Until that annoying student graduated, we should stop dating. What do you think Hoshi?”

Hoshi nodded his head furiously with a smile. “Sure! Sure! Sure! That’s a good idea!”

You patted his head while sighing, “I’m sorry Hoshi.”

“No! I’m okay with it. I mean… it’s okay. Hahahaha.”

“I really thought Mingyu was being like that because he likes you. I won’t suggest this if that’s the case cause I’ll stick with you even more. But when he said that he actually likes me, I feel the responsibility as his teacher. I’ll settle this matter with my student, okay? Don’t worry.”

  Hoshi stopped.

When he finally understood everything, he began to feel a sudden throb on his chest. He hates the idea of another guy liking you. Why? Why would he?

Mingyu likes (Y/n)? Why am I getting disheartened over this? Whatever it is, it is impossible for me to feel jealousy. Right. I’m not jealous.’

Hoshi thinks he isn’t jealous – that’s the sixth misunderstanding.
