Sorry about the late chapter! I try to post before 7 pm EST. but I had a lot of school work today.

" A streamer huh? " Dream mumbled to himself while staring up at the ceiling. The blonde had nothing to do. Sapnap and George were back to hanging out together and Dream couldn't help but feel left out.

He knew nothing about life, and it sure did make things awkward. His mind drifted back to home. Now he was beginning to miss the annoying heat and the bleak streets. He bolted up right suddenly, scaring the living daylights out of the two around him.

" What? What happened? " Both blurted at the same time.

" How is Patches supposed to take care of herself? " He wailed, a mental image of the reddish tortie popping into his head.

George sighed. " Dream, she's a cat. And a ghost, I'm sure she's fine. " He comforted, placing a hand on the imp's shoulder.

" But she always waits in my bedroom for me to come back home. " Dream whimpered, his ears drooping.

" They have cats in hell? " Sapnap seemed dumbfounded. Dream shot him a freezing glare.

" Yeah. Patches always ate off my plate though. " he continued, shifting back and forth anxiously.

" She's probably fine, Dream. " George sighed softly.

" I- I know... I just miss here. " He pouted. George wrapped him up in a hug.

" I feel very left out. " remarked Sapnap.

" Shut up. " Blushed George, pulling away quickly.

Dream shifted his mask. He was staring down wordlessly.

" Why do you always wear that mask? " Sapnap asked curiously as he watched Dream adjust, and readjust the straps over and over again.

" Oh- uhm. " Dream blinked. He was a little caught off guard with the question. " I wear it becauseeee... " He trailed off. He didn't know how much he wanted to answer the question.

" It makes me feel safer. " he decided. It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the whole truth either.

sapnap nodded. " Okay, I just- you could be mistaken as a serial killer or something, y'know? Like it's a smiley face, but it's kinda threatening. " He laughed.

" It is? " Dream was surprised by this, a guilty frown spread across his face.

" I think it's cute. " Commented George blankly. Red quickly overtook Dream's face.

" I'm tired. " He complained.

" Then go take a nap or something. " Sapnap retorted.

" Okayyy... "

Dream stood up and moped his way to the room he and George shared.

He gave a low sigh and took off the mask. He flopped lazily on the bed and stared at the wall. He couldn't help but feel out of place.

" Being alive is so weird. " He mumbled out loud to himself.

" Everything is so different. I want to go back home. " He whined as he rolled over and dragged his hands over his face in exasperation.

He slowly sat up and pulled his legs up to his chest. His stare hovered out the window. " I know angels can hear me. George wouldn't shut up about it. So Bad, I just want to go home. " He whimpered before plopping his head in his knees.

" I don't want to be here anymore. " He groaned as he curled up even tighter, tears brimming his eyes. " Am I that bad? " His voice came broken.

The door creaked open and the imp jumped, basically falling off the bed. A dull thud followed as he glared up at the door. " Hi. " He muffled out, laying his head against the floor.

" Oh- Dream? You okay? " George asked as he offered him a hand. Dream took it and forced himself to sit up. " Yeah. I'm tired but I can't fall asleep. "

" Gosh you look so tired though. " Frowned George as he sat down on the bed, Dream following in suit.

" I am. " He snapped, George flinched and a harsh wave of guilt hit Dream. " Sorry. I didn't mean to snap. I'm just frustrated. " He muttered as he flopped onto his side and faced the wall again.

He heard shuffling and then a pair of warm arms wrapped around him. He relaxed at the touch and snuggled into it. The way he could be calmed in an instant like that amazed him, but he wasn't complaining.

He saw the light in the room fade. George was asleep. He stared out the window again. The stars twinkled down at him and he found himself smiling softly.

" I never realized how pretty these were. " He mumbled as he watched one occasionally grow brighter than the other. He gave a small, content sigh and closed his eyes. Dream was alone with his mind now.

Everything in his mind was racing faster than he thought was possible.

He was too drowsy to form coherent thoughts though. Most of them would start, and then trail off, and then start in a new subject, trail off, repeat.

He finally seemed to fall asleep, his wings wrapped tightly around himself and his ears splayed messily against the pillow.
