Now (Bruce)

Just a drabble that I'm not sure how I feel about because my Christmas drabble is too short to post alone.

Working for Bruce Wayne as a assistant was always good, he cares about his employees. And when I got dumped over being pregnant, Bruce was there for me both as a friend and boss.

As the day grows closer, the stress only increases.

"You are going to be a great mother." Bruce says from behind me.

I turn and look to him, "I find that hard to believe... I am so busy and live alone..."

He steps forward, "You still have me. I promise you and your baby will be taken care of."

I look away, "I can't ask you to go out of your way just for me."

He chuckles, "Good thing you don't have to ask. I care about you Y/n. I always have." He puts a hand on my cheek gently, "I will do anything for you..."

I look up to him in surprise, "You... You don't mean that..."

Instead of saying anything, he gently kisses me. I melt into his touch, kissing back, as the baby kicks. Bruce chuckles and pulls back, "Little one is protective of you.."

I blush and giggle, "Yeah... guess so.." The I feel a unusual tense feeling build up, my brows creasing.

"Are you alright?" he asks worried.

I nod, "Just a kick." Saying this seems to trigger my water to break.

"Come on, lets get you to the hospital." He says and wraps a arm around my waist.

It doesn't take long for the contractions to start. The next two hours are the hardest thing I've lived through, but, just as he promised, Bruce is by my side for it all.

A sweet baby girl is brought into the world, and Bruce couldn't be happier.
