Written Love (Dick)

You and your soulmate wrote to eachother daily.

You knew he went by Dick and he knows you are Y/n.

You know you are the same age as eachother. You are younger by two months.

You now have inside jokes and know about each others life sorrows.

The only secret you kept was that you were a superhero named Shadow. You could draw energy from darkness and manipulate it how you please. And you have been part of the young justice team since day one.

To hide your secret ID you just wear your black gloves that go to your elbow under all your outfits when with the team.

Today the team was sent on a mission that led to your capture.

You hold your wrist close, knowing it is injured but not how badly.

You were beaten and cut up badly while fighting.

After about half an hour Robin is thrown in.

He lands with a hard thump and punches the ground angrily. "I was about to come get you out when they caught me. Are you ok?"

"I think my wrist is broke... other then that just the normal from being ambushed." You sigh.

"Let me take a look..." He moves to sit beside you and takes your arm gently.

"I... you'll want to know i have a soulmate and we write to eachother on our arms... nobody knows... and he doesn't know I am a hero..." You mumble as a explanation.

"That's ok... I understand... I won't tell anyone you can do that with your soulmate." He says softly as he pulls your glove down.

You wince and look away.

"Y/n..?" He asks, voice suddenly full of concern.

You look to him in shock. You never told him your name and he always respected you enough to not look into your files that batman had. "How...?"

He quickly pulls his glove away and reveals the exact conversation on his arm.

"No way..." You look at him, a slight smirk on your lips.

"We never got the spark cause we never had skin to skin... we both always worked gloves and long sleeves..." Dick looks at you nervously.

Then you hear the door to the cell block opening.

You both slip you gloves back up your arms and you wince from the pain in your wrist.

"Hey, you two ok?" Wally says on the mental link.

You nod some and Robin helps you up.

"Good. While you two were stuck down here, we handled the bad guys. So let's leave." He says and uses the key he took from a guard to open the door.

Robin rolls his eyes and helps you up and out of the building to the bioship.

Once inside and seated, Robin turns to you and takes you glove off and starts looking over your wrist.

"Oh! You have a soulmate! How cute! That's become very rare." M'gann says happily.

"Uh... yeah.." You blush looking to Robin some.

Wally gives you both a knowing look.

"Have you shared the first touch yet?" She asks.

"No... but we know eachother really well. More alike then we first thought." You say with a subtle smirk.

"So when were you going to tell me?" Wally asks in a whisper while leaning over to Dick.

"What's that Wally?" Artemis asks.

"He asked when I was going to tell him... I'm her soulmate." Robin admits proudly.

You blush brightly and everyone falls silent.

"You have been around eachother for years and never figured it out or accidently touched?" Artemis speaks up after a moment.

"Nope... things happen weirdly like that all the time though... we don't live normal lives." You defend yourself.

"You two really are clueless about things like this. Seriously. The two detectives of the team and you didn't figure this one out." She tease.

"Oh, hush. They need to do the touch. To make the connection. They have always been a good team. This should make them in sync too!" M'gann cheers.

Dick smirks.

You watch him, expecting him to take off his glove, but instead he kisses you suddenly.

It's as if the world melts away and all you feel is his lips on yours.

When you pull back you notice everyone looks very uncomfortable and quiet.

Robin and you look at the front where Batman is on the screen, glaring at you both.

"We will have the discussion about that later. Aqualad. Report the mission to me."

Kaldur begins a mission report on the spot while you and Robin look at each other knowing you are both in deep now.
