Patton looked around the living room and kitchen with a confused expression. "Virgil, do you know where Logan is?" Virgil looked up from his phone as he sat on the couch and shook his head. "No, actually." Patton forced a fake smile, not concealing the worry in his eyes. "Okay, thanks, kiddo."

Patton made his way up the stairs to check Logan's room, knowing he'd most likely be there. Ever since he'd moved in with the other three roommates, it was evident that Logan tended to overwork himself. Patton noticed this and created schedules to ensure the logical man wouldn't do that anymore. Sometimes, though, Logan would still manage to lock himself away for a day without anyone knowing.

Patton softly knocked on Logan's door. Hearing the sobs on the other side of the door, Patton completely disregarded any invite or "go away" Logan could give him. As the paternal man entered the room, he spotted Logan curled up on the floor against his bed, knees pulled up to his chest, fingers pulling at his hair, sobs wracking his body.

His heart clenched at the sight; he quickly sat down beside his friend and pulled him into a side hug. Patton purposely placed his arm over Logan's, making sure he couldn't pull at his hair anymore. Normally, Patton wouldn't restrain someone like this (not that he held that tightly anyway) since he knew that usually made things worse. But Logan had told him before that having someone to cling to and ground him comforted him.

Logan gripped Patton's arm with one hand and covered his mouth with the other, trying to calm himself down. Patton glanced at the papers strewn around the room, Logan's laptop laying open among the mess. "It's okay, Logan. You're okay. Do you want to talk about it?" Logan quickly shook his head. "Okay, okay. That's fine, you're okay, Lo."

They sat there in silence for a few seconds before Patton sat the shadow of someone standing in the doorway. 'I forgot to close the door.' Patton internally cursed himself, then looked up to see Roman looking around the room confusedly. "Why is Logan's room all messy-" Patton cut him off with a soft hush. Roman stared at the two, his expression softening into concern. "Oh."

Roman quietly shut the door, Patton silently thanking him before looking back at Logan, who calmed down to sniffles.

"Lo? Do you wanna talk now, or is that still a no?" Logan gulped and wiped at his eyes. "I apologize; I'm not sure what brought that on." He said roughly, throat sore from sobbing for who knows how long. Patton stared at his friend sympathetically. "Sometimes, you don't need a specific reason to be upset, kiddo. Things can get to be too much, and we need to deal with all of it at once. But that doesn't mean we have to deal with it alone; we still have the people that care about us to lean on, yeah?"

The nerd nodded and took a moment before speaking up. "I..." Logan took in a deep breath and sighed, letting everything out. "I'm sure you've noticed that around you all, I'm usually a closed-off person; sometimes I can be a bit cocky. However, a more significant percentage of the time, I'm very insecure about myself. I would love to think I'm the most intelligent person I know and that I'm genuinely going to do great things, but I can't find it in myself to think I'm anything but a...disappointment." Logan whispered the last part in a shaky voice, tears springing to his eyes once more.

Patton shook his head, rubbing a soothing hand up and down his friend's back. "Logan, even if you can't give yourself credit, know that you are one of the most amazing people I've ever met. You may not see it, but you are intelligent. And you are such a sweet person, especially when you think no one's watching. You help everyone under this roof and out in the world. If I thought you were anything less than amazing, I wouldn't be bothering to help you right now, Lo."

Logan squeezed his eyes shut, then launched himself into Patton's arms. Patton almost lost his balance as he caught the boy before balancing and hugging back.
