Roman forced a smirk as his friends joked about something he couldn't care less about. He wasn't entirely sure why he was still friends with these people, but he was vaguely aware it had something to do with keeping a respectable reputation.

He laid back on his bed, propping himself up on his elbows. The relaxed position gave the impression to the other people in his room that he was comfortable, all except one. Virgil eyed him nervously from his spot in the corner of Roman's room, half because he was concerned about the act Roman was putting up, and the other half was because he didn't like Roman's friends that much either. He was partially in the group, but it was apparent they only tolerated him because he was dating Roman, and was quickly reactant to their insults.

"Okay, well, we should get going. Don't want to keep Sara waiting." David said, standing up from Roman's desk. Laura stared at Virgil in amusement. "What's wrong, loverboy? Are you waiting until we're out of the room to steal something of Victoria's?" Roman forced himself to ignore his deadname. Another boy in the group snickered. "Yeah, for voodoo stuff, huh?" The group laughed at how defensive Virgil got at the comments.

Roman studied Virgil's tense body language with a worried look. He quickly slipped on a smirk and cut into the others' laughter. "You know what, guys, I think I'm going to skip out on this one. I'm super tired." David rolled his eyes and jokingly shoved Roman's head to the side. "Fine, we'll see you on Monday, lazy ass." Laura smiled at Roman, it was meant to be comforting, but there was a coldness behind it that sent shivers up the short boy's spine. "See ya, girlie."

The group shuffled out of the room then left the house, leaving Roman and Virgil to let out sharp, relieved sighs. Roman entirely laid down on his bed and put his hands to his face, trying not to let the oncoming tears show. Virgil made his way over to his boyfriend and sat beside him. "Ro?"

The said boy moved his hands a bit to peek up at Virgil. "Sorry, I just need a second." Virgil's heart clenched at the crack in Roman's voice, making it obvious he was crying. The tall emo boy pulled out his phone and texted his two other boyfriends, Patton and Janus. He slipped his phone back into his pocket then leaned against the headboard of Roman's bed, pulling the smaller boy's head into his lap to stroke his hair comfortingly.

Roman eventually fell asleep, and, just minutes later, Patton and Janus snuck into the second-story bedroom by the window, as per usual. "Is he okay? What happened?" Patton asked softly, eyebrows knit together in concern. Virgil stared down at Roman, silently appreciating how much his boyfriends cared for his other boyfriend. The princely boy wasn't dating Janus and Patton, and didn't have any interest in doing so, but the two were close friends of Roman's after he began dating Virgil.

"The usual stuff with you-know-who." Virgil said calmly, Janus huffed in annoyance. "There's seriously no way to get him away from them?" The emo boy shook his head with a soft smile. "The best we can do is be there for him. Lucky for him, he has three people that care for him." Patton smiled warmly. "We love him almost as much as you, Virgey."

Roman stirred, attracting the attention of the three boys. He slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes, smiling tiredly at Patton and Janus. "Hey, guys, when did you get here?" Janus approached the boy. "We got here a couple of minutes ago, how are you feeling, bud?" He asked softly. Roman shrugged. "I'm good, I'm better now that you guys are all here." "How about we have a movie night? I brought Knot's Berry cookies!" Patton suggested excitedly. Roman nodded and patted the remaining space on his rather large bed for Patton and Janus.

Virgil smiled at his boyfriends; he knew they likely wouldn't begin dating anytime soon, if at all, but it still warmed his heart to witness moments like these in which they were all together. When they were in each other's company and seemed to click so well together.

'This is perfect.' He thought with a smile.
