It is more deadly than the Black Death,

That plagued us in the past.

It can totally destroy the earth,

The kill zone spreads out fast.

It is more deadly than any virus,

And is a bomb waiting to explode.

It is a creation made by us,

Of our own stupidity, ready to implode.

Its arrows never miss their target,

They will be our only warning.

By then it will be too late for regret,

Not all will get to see a new morning.

Its sign the mushroom,

Will bloom and fill the sky,

And its heat will be our doom,

And many a man shall cry.

Man’s attempts to harness,

To provide with absolute power,

Will lead to total calmness,

While innocence can only glower.

Even though behind locked doors,

We shall try to hide.

Its gift to you shall be sores.

Pain and death will flow like the tide.

All good shall be swept away,

As well as humanities filth,

Its presence will linger and stay,

Till the earth is returned its health.

Einstein discovered the reaction,

And it has become a creature,

Of our stupidity and dereliction,

Waiting to get free because of our nature.

It spreads its consuming fires,

To cleanse away our pride,

Our cities turned into funeral pyres.

Our sins no more can we hide.

It scars those lucky to live,

Once the carnage has passed,

Our greed and hate did it drive,

Our intelligence has been outclassed.

With nowhere left to shelter,

Our civilization left in ruins.

We will still run helter skelter,

As our hatred still consumes.

When it is done some will survive,

But our ruination will still be present,

All cursed to suffer while still alive.

Without any succour to be sent.

None can live in peace anymore,

As suffering is our final gift.

Civilization has been shaken to its core,

Back to the dark ages we do shift.

Born of our collective genius,

We thought to control the Beast.

But with acts so heinous,

We unleashed it for a feast.

Total, utter devastation,

All species denied the right,

Because we rose above our station,

And destroyed the world with our might.
