Zeus

Mount Olympus, peaceful, quite,

No sound does issue from its vaunted halls.

Once beautiful and powerful,

Cast down and destroyed.

Your throne cracked,

Tilting on its downward fall,

Yet on your throne you still sit,

Silently fuming, plotting,

Your return from the infamy of myth.

Zeus, once greatest amongst gods,

Now an old has been,

Trapped in glorious past,

Praying to his new god, man,

For a return to yester year.

Cast easily from power,

Watching the world in impotence,

Sees not the others as they languish,

All staring at their hey days.

Deep down a nagging feeling,

A hint of reality,

The truth does eventually arrive.

...he was but a creation of man,

Not the other way around.

Once no more needed,

Easily cast aside for another.

Rejected, yet not forgotten,

You suffer within your broken halls,

A man made hell of rejection,

With all other gods.

What fickle men,

Are your creators.
