False beauty

Simplistic, silent musings,

Days gone, long past.

No future in palm readings.

The present flees to fast.

Beauty deceives the eye,

Leaving much to be desired.

Knives made to create a lie,

Falsehood applied and layered.

Imperfections highlighted,

Made to feel insecure,

The problem not always sighted.

Money believed to be the only cure.

Self loathing for being different,

Fed by tabloid ramblings,

Sick, perverted, our image to rent,

Their aim to garner our earnings!

Bigger, fuller, wrinkle free, better.

Doctored pictures bombard our minds.

Destroying, as if it did not matter.

Beauty always sought, yet no one finds.

Perpetual miss guidance does destroy.

Truthful words of praise would save,

Bolster ones self beliefs a good ploy.

If only everyone could be brave.

Botox filling, silicone bouncing,

Faces taught to form ghastly masks.

This now is true beauty faking.

Just one of the doctors many tasks.

Radiant smiles, laughing eyes, gone.

Opulent forms, now twisted grotesquely.

Plastic surgery is now the one.
