Valentines day

Encouraged to spend exorbitant sums of money,

On cards, flowers, chocolates and cheap shitty goods.

This is what valentines is, nothing more than commercialised wastage.

A day, retailers can fill their pockets with gullible money,

Brain wash the masses into believing their lies.

Now let me recommend to you, what you should do on a day like this,

It would have more meaning, than this useless excuse for making money.

Prepare a feast of delicatessens,  pack it in a picnic basket.

Once done, make her breakfast in bed, give her a flower, a carnation will do.

Draw her a bath, let her soak and laze in the fragrent aroma, while you pack the car.

Once she is done rub her out in scented cream and select her favorite outfit.

Tell her not where you are going or what will be happening.

Sweep her out the door, drive to a location in the country side, farm, forest, lake, wherever.

Set out the feast, feed her, talk, massage her neck, legs and feet.

Lay awhile, look around, soak up the sun, admire the beauty,

Do not forget to compliment and flatter, read her some poetry of love.

Pack everything away and take her for a walk, hold hands, give her hugs,

Even a cheeky squeeze of her posterior.

All the while focus on her.

Once done walking, take her for a drive,

Go to a museum, art gallery, a play, even if it is in a park.

Spend time with her, as the day nears its end,

Take her to the ocean or anywhere you can see the sun set,

Hold her close, hug her, tell her how much you love her.

Take her home and well...do what adults do.

I am sure this will be priceless, a day she will remember,

Longer than the overpriced flowers, cheesy card, predictable chocolates

And downright, I will only use once, useless nick-nacks that is sold for this day.

It sure would be a better way of showing someone you love them, surely?

Now this would be a true valentines day in my opinion, you did not really spend money,

But gave of your time and lavished on her attention, something money cannot buy.
