Loves quest

Final moments pass so quickly,

Death wastes no time in claiming,

Righteous pious life lived,

Guaranteed place in eternal Heaven.

Eager entrance through Heavens doors,

Wonderous view of paradise promised.

Jubilation rings forth from all around,

Search the sea of faces for my love.

Time passes not in my quest,

Yet my love I do not find awaiting me.

Shyly approach God's son,

An earnest question upon my lips.

Before I ask, I have my answer,

Dark cloud corrupts my mind,

Smiling, he leads me forth to the door,

Love will find a way, he cryptically says.

To Hell I am bound, so for to find,

My one love, I thought would await me.

With dire determination, I set forth,

My place in Heaven in peril.

Dreaded daemons, dangerous denizens,

Deem it necessary to assault me,

With righteous indignation, brush them aside,

I cannot kill them, neither them me.

My vision they bombard with sultry images,

Of carnal, base desires of audacious porportions.

Dilegently stride forth through their temple,

Ever downwards, into the seven tiers of Hell.

I know what I see is but a seduction,

A perversion beyond mans lustful desires.

Should I partake of these illusions,

Forever in Hell I will reside.

Hell, reverts back to form,

A tortorous pit of eternal suffering,

Illusion dispelled for what new subterfuge?

Demons leer, as pleasure they take from inflicted pain.

I know not what could be worse,

Living a life based on time or...

Existing in a realm with no time?

Here and now are eternity.

After how long I know not,

I find my lover upon Satan's rack,

Cruelly suffering at his hands,

I freeze...

Emotions war within me,

What sin did my love commit,

To deserve this eternal damnation?

We both followed the same teachings!

In her eyes, I see nothing but...

Loathing, seething hate and disgust,

If knives they were, I would be skewered,

Raise my hands to cover my face.

I look one more time upon this scene,

I take in Satan, all angelic still,

By far still the attractive angel, he once was,

Yet...

The portals to the soul is wrong,

Love...recognition...suffering...pain?

Why would I see this in his eyes?

Drawn deeper into his pits, I see...

Master of lies, he does deceive,

He is she and she is he.

I seize his hand and pull her close,

A roar escapes his mouth upon the rack.

Before me stands the prince of lies,

Resplendent in all his beauty.

In my arms, I cradle my love,

I hold her tight, like I had never held her before.

Satan smiles, waves his hand to a door,

Quickly, he ushers us on our way.

I carry my love over the threshold,

Back into Heaven, where I belong.

Before me stands the son of God,

Resplendent, all in purest white.

He asks me if I want to know,

The reason she was not there with me?

I mull this over for awhile, in two minds, I am.

I shake my head, my mind decided.

Once more he beams at me and tells me anyway.

She saved you on earth, now you returned the favour.
