The dreams of youth,

So wishful,

So tantalizingly dreamy,

So inspired,

So noble!

Oh woe,

The reality of life,

So crushing,

So explicitly realistic,

So mundane,

So despicable!

...

Dreams are always crushed by reality,

Stripped from us so cruelly,

Why must life's reality be so cruel?

Let me tell you why!

The reason is...

So we can keep on dreaming...

New dreams with which to fight reality.

This way we keep our sanity,

Our humanity!

For without dreams,

We would not be where we are.
