War

A call to all nations to send forth their armies,

To wage war upon all their enemies.

It is a time to kill or be killed.

The horror and fear cannot be stilled.

On shaky legs we stride onwards,

Our humanity driven backwards.

Screams of pain and fear entwine,

With sounds of war to show our decline.

Acts so heinous, barbarous and callous,

We do it for those that lead us.

Bullets speed us to our end,

Our blood in soil does blend.

Hollow, sightless eyes observe,

The demise of innocents, who do not deserve.

The beast of war does feed,

On every nations greed!

The young are puppets brainwashed,

For paltry gains in lands we are obsessed.

Wasteful expenditure on implements of destruction,

Each designed to maximize Death's penetration.

Death walks the fields wearing many faces,

He does not care for any of mankind's races.

When the final gun goes silent,

Our lust for carnage still does not relent.

Those lucky to survive are mentally, physically maimed.

To relive nightmares, until one day they are claimed.

To ensure peace, we must be prepared for war,

Has been proven to be a lie to its core!

All that is achieved is death, destruction and heartache.

Its lust of chaos feeds off our eternal mistake.

We are a species in love with glory

And abhorrence afterwards for all that is gory.

War does not solve but creates a host of hates,

Thus in the end there is nothing that sates.

Even our Deities are prone to encourage genocide.

How do we break the cycle without committing deicide?

We cannot escape this vicious circle of violence?

When we treat peace with utter insolence!
