Malicious tongue of gossip

Past indiscretions return from the grave,

To plaque, hurt and haunt!

Disturbing the placid, quite solitude,

The pain afresh it bequeaths!

What joy does instigator voice gain,

By tearing healed scabs from wounds?

What is surely in the forgotten past,

Once forgiven and left in shallow grave,

Should be left undisturbed by outside influence?

Yet not, is such the case!

Malicious jealousy of conceited minds,

Seek own happiness in others plight!

Sowing seeds from past mistaken deeds,

To make eyes weep rivers of pain,

To flow down upon rent heart once healed!

For what selfish purpose and devious gains,

Do people take from involvement in others lives?

When ever has half a painted picture,

Ever did portent a complete event?

Whispers heard, oft twisted by additions,

Concluded in tales of actions in utter fiction,

Wound deeper than truths shouted honesty!

What foul nature of gossip upon tongue,

Easily accost and affronts naive ears,

Greedily gobbled titbits of smidgen truths,

Give rise to renewed suffering emotions.

Wicked fingers pick at scab of wound,

Healed by power of acceptance and forgiveness,

Because of gluttony of hatred at other people's happiness!
