Chapter 10 Never again, part 48

(Shannon’s POV)

We didn’t speak to each other. He wouldn’t dare look at me. Finally, I said something “why didn’t you stop him? I mean, I know you said you tried, but how come it didn’t work?” he looked at me and then looked away again “well, I told him that he was overreacting, but then he told me his side of the story and” he stopped himself by biting his lip, this was frustrating and confusing me “what do you mean ‘his side’?” “I can’t tell you” he muttered. It was then that I made my decision, because now there were sides, secrets and just basically drama going on and it was just getting on my nerves. I did love Tristan, but I just couldn’t do it anymore “Tris” I started softly, but then he got up and walked to the other side of the room “what are you doing?” I asked him “you’re trying to make me tell you” he hissed, I stared at him for a second in shock “no… actually I wasn’t.” “Liar” “Tris. Why are you acting like this?” “I should be asking you the same thing! You yelled at Brad! Have you all lost your minds!?!? Yelling and lying is all you girls do and it’s getting annoying!” he yelled at me. I stood there for a second, frozen, not knowing what to say “oh, so now the girl who ALWAYS has something to say is speechless? Unless you’re gonna slap me like you slapped Brad” he scoffed “what the hell” I chocked, tears formed in my eyes and I bit my lip, he had never been this angry and it hurt me to know I was annoying him “fine, you want to know why I didn’t stop him” he yelled “when did that question ever come out of my mouth” I yelled back as the tears streamed down my face “I AGREE WITH HIM! You’re all a bunch of bitches” he screamed “well if you really think that then we should just end this” I growled. His face instantly dropped. Tears formed in his own eyes and I could see he was hurt “w-what?” I asked “you heard me. This is all just getting too much. You think I’m a bitch anyway, so what’s the point?” “No, please, Shann” he walked towards me, but I backed away “no. We’re over. Get out” I pointed at the door and he shook his head “never. Just, I’m sorry, please don’t” “GET OUT” I screamed. He looked at me for a second, his expression mixed with many emotions. Then, he finally walked towards the door “I never wanted it to end this way” I said as he opened the door “neither did I” he said, then he walked out and closed the door behind him. I sat down on the sofa and put my head in my hands, crying out ever emotion going through me. The pain in my chest was unbearable and his words kept running through my head. “Shann?” I looked up and saw Abby and Katelyn looking down at me, they were both looking at me with sympathy “did you hear?” I sobbed, they both nodded “every word” Katelyn said “I’m so sorry Shann” she continued “it’s not your fault… I just lost him” I sniffed, then I began to cry harder than before, even if it was close to impossible, I still managed it. Abby and Katelyn both sat down either side of me and hugged me “just remember we’re always here for you” Abby whispered to me “thanks” I sniffed again and we all sat in that position for ages. None of us wanted to move because we were scared that if we did, everything would fall apart.
