SADE

"Good morning!"

I cringed a little from Ms. McCracken's greetings early in the morning, based on our timetables—our common teacher.

"Good morning, ma'am!" everyone pepped, and that made me cringe even more.

No wonder; it's Friday.

So everyone is excited about ending this day as early as possible and going home.

Speaking of home, our brother Stan's deal is to visit him in his penthouse.

I need a breather, not torture. Well, a deal is a deal.

I missed our dad, although if we go home tomorrow, he won't be there as usual, as will mom, of course.

It's been a week, and she hasn't called yet.

We understand their work—it's not as dramatic as it sounds because we can handle it.

"We have an addition in our class," Ms. McCracken announced while glancing at her thick record. "The Tierez?"

Several familiar faces turned towards us. Hayden and Alicia, who were sitting in front of our row, gave us a nod as Knox, sitting to my left, tapped my arm.

Here goes the introduction sh*t again.

Seth and I stood up robotically. I'm so sick of this.

"Here in front, introduce yourselves," she called us while smiling widely.

I smirked.

"You look so excited," Seth mumbled as we reached where Ms. McCracken was.

I rubbed my eyes first before answering him. "As you do too."

He just grins as we stand in front of the class.

My grin grew wider when I saw Berely and Remi eyeing me in distaste. It seems like Ms. Gavin really called their parents last night, except for Ramen.

She will soon.

In the far corner, Damien, James, and Allan are comfortably sitting together, arms crossed, and not to forget the glares.

Those glares will turn into eyes of shame. I swear.

"Introduce yourself." Ms. McCracken nudged while hands on her hips and her eyes spoke with absolute authority.

It seems like this teacher is not as bubbly as the others.

Seth flashes a nonchalant smile before saying, "I'm Seth, and this is my twin sister Sade. Nice to meet you."

I just smiled as my eyes darted from row to row.

Two rows away is where Berely and Ramen perked up in their own seats. Laptops on their desks—a carry-on with no bags—can be easily touched.

The effects of their parents' tongue-lashing are still apparent in their scowls.

"Okay, go back to your seats." Ms. McCracken dismissed us in front of her. "Laptops on," she instructed us as we settled into our own seats.

Everyone flipped their laptops open.

She went to the board and wrote something while we waited for our laptops to get ready.

I rhythmically tapped my fingers in anticipation.

I looked in front of me, and as we planned last night, Alicia discreetly faced me, waiting for my calculations.

'Twelve.' I whispered while glancing at Seth, if we had the same number.
