Violence, graphic descriptions of death-----
Lana's hand lingered on the lever of the railcar, her thoughts stuck on why she was here. She last visited this place when she was starting as a reporter, meeting with a skilled woman named Ellie Staple to find a cure for the plague to save lives. Now, she was here to take a life. Lowering her mask, her form shifted away as the gift Sally gave her teleported her onto a nearby ledge.
Crouching as she peered into a window, guards were all over the place like ants on a dead bird. Gently touching the magnifying glass, the eye to the mask adjusted to allow her a better view of the Wall of Light. "I heard Lana Winters left Dunwall." A guard chimed up. Another guard smacked the other's head with the blunt end of his sword. "You know better than to mention that name!" He hissed. "And what happens if you do? Your throat gets cut? She pops a bullet between your eyes? You're paranoid." A female guard chimed in, her voice filled with humor. "People like you have no fear. I saw her move, she was right in front of me, next thing I know, three of my men were killed in the blink of an eye and there was a gun to my head! She's dangerous, you should fear her!" The man cried out, tears forming in his eyes. Lana rolled her eyes, picking up a bottle and throwing it just behind the three.
The sound of breaking glass sent the three running, allowing Lana to sneak by. The Wall of Light panel was left open, allowing her easy access to change the polarity. "Hey! You can't be here!" A guard called out, rushing towards her. Lana stepped forward, stepping through the electricity. The guard following from behind ran into the Wall of Light, his entirety changed into ash that fell to the floor. Lana looked back, turning her attention forward.
Her sword pierced a guard effortlessly, gently covering their mouth and hushing them as she laid them down. She had found the code to the vault in front of her, turning the numbers. 268. Opening the vault door, sitting in front of her was a rune. "We talk again, old friend." Lana whispered, closing her eyes and grabbing the whispering object. "It's been a long time, dear Lana." A voice whispered in her ear. The cold interior of the laboratory changed, becoming warm. The smell of chlorine and rain changed to cigarettes and cheap perfume from Wynnedown. Opening her eyes, Lana stared at the blonde woman in front of her. The Void was a cold dark place, but with a new God taking the spot of representative, Sally had changed it to a room from The Hound Pits Pub.
Lana sat down, taking in a deep breath. "You came to see me again... Why? It's been a few months." Lana started, staring at the black-eyed woman that sat beside her. "Why not? You're so close to getting revenge." Sally chirped. Lana blinked, gritting her teeth to a forced smile. "I need to finish that, preferably before he escapes." Lana reminded. Sally looked over from the bar she stood at, bringing over Tyvian wine. "Just a sip." Lana took the bottle, doing as instructed. There was no burn, just the searing cold of The Void...
Opening her eyes, Lana made her way to the doors of the Treatment Area, seeing her target. Thredson. The man turned around, fear in his face as he realized who had opened the doors. "Lana-" he tried to speak, but his voice quieted to a whimper as she stepped forward into the light. "It's been a long time." Lana growled.
Lana appeared onto a ledge, watching the disgusting maggot of a man writhe in panic. Twisting her blade, Lana leapt down. Thredson looked up, his scream leaving his mouth gaping and silent. Her sword ran down past his eye, getting stuck in his skull and brain. His body slumped, limply hanging onto the sword. Laying him down, Lana pressed her foot to his chest and yanked her sword out.
"Your soul is forfeit, Bloody Face."
Thredson's corpse disintegrated into ash and dust, Sally not wanting Lana to continue seeing him. "His soul will be tortured by The Envisioned. He will have no chance at fading into nothingness." Sally whispered.
"Thank you."
