Dishonored AU Assassin Lana Winters x Noble Reader

Lana goes into a masquerade to kill a target. However, she has a sudden change of plans.

---

Lana came into the estate, her mask perfectly over her face. This was just the night, her mask had been described everywhere as the Terror of Dunwall, but now it was a sign of wealth to have a perfect replica. This was a masquerade lead by a noble who was feeding into the Lord Reagent's horrific actions, to which she was going to end it now.

That was until you drunkenly stumbled into her arms. You glanced up at her, Lana able to smell cider on your breath even behind the mask. "Your arms are muscular. You're a very strong woman." You complimented, head tilting slightly. "Strong women are my favorite. Which is funny to say because I'm also a woman... Like the Brogmore - no... Big... Brigwh- Brigmore Switches! Or is it witches?" You stammered, still holding onto her. "Ma'am, I think you had a little too much to drink." Lana softly spoke, stumbling backwards a little as you abruptly hugged her. "You smell like happy thoughts." You giggled, Lana carefully bringing you to a chair. She crouched down, hearing you giggled softly. "Scary mask. You know what would be funny? If you were the assassin who did kill Sister Jude of the Ocular Sisters, I know that the Abbey of the Everyman has been looking for them." You giggled, Lana nodding. "Yes, yes. It would be strange. I should be going." She calmly said, waiting for you to let go of her hand. "Don't we have like... A connection? Can I feel your arms again?" Lana sighed, rolling up her sleeve for you.

Lana watch you go from eyeing her arm like it was the last apricot tart to worry. "What are all these marks?" You asked softly. "Those? That's when I was.... At a bad place." She explained quietly, you rolling her sleeve back up. Cuts, burns, and electrical scars. "Who did this to you?" You asked, only Lana able to hear you. "Dr. Thredson..." She cautiously whispered, feeling you pull her into a hug. "You're too mysterious to have that happen to you." You whimpered, hugging her tightly.

Lana gently pulled you off of her, holding your hands. "Can you tell me where Lady Gallant is?" She asked ever so quietly, you nodding. "She's where the piano is at." You managed to whisper, hiccuping. Lana left you, heading to where she needed to go.

Blinking on top of a light and crouching down, Lana loaded her wristbow. She heard a whisper just behind her ear. May she fall to ashes. Lana aimed, originally going for the head. Then, she aimed for the back of her knee. Just as she pulled her trigger, she watched her fall into the fire at the force of the bolt, trying desperately to get out. The fire spread all over her clothes and her mask, to which Lana went back to find you as sneakily as possible. Guards were screaming to help Lady Gallant, to which it was too late. As her body stopped moving, she fell into a pile of ash with a feint black smoke.

Lana picked you up, hauling you over her shoulder. "Weee!" You cooed, giggling. Lana saw the guard at the ticket booth. "I'm taking Lady (Y/N) home. Poor Baroness got too drunk." Lana explained, the guard nodding. "Good night!" The guard called out, opening the gate for Lana to leave with you.

It was a quiet walk to the boat, Lana getting help from Kai to get you onboard. "You really had to kidnap a Baroness!?" He hissed, glancing to you. As you slept, you clung to Lana's arm, snoring softly. "Look, she was hitting on me." Lana quietly explained, glancing down to you as you shifted slightly. "Plus, I wasn't going to leave her there. Men would've taken advantage of her drunken state. I'll let her sleep on my bed, I've slept on wooden floors before." Lana stated, Kai shaking his head. "How is it that you always get women all over you, Lana?"

"Because I'm an assassin."
