It was a dark and stormy night, and the students of Casa V3 had just finished dinner, except for Himiko who had skipped out on dinner. She didn't want to eat because she was feeling crampy and bloaty which made her have no appetite. Not having an appetite led to her being grouchy. The others knew when Himiko was like this and often left her alone rather than deal with her moodiness. When Himiko was like this, she spent most her time in the living room watching TV in the dark with a blanket placed over her entire body like she was some reclusive old lady. Some of the other students looked at Himiko with concern, worried that she wasn't getting enough to eat.

"Um...Himiko, I can make you a small snack if you want," Kaede offered kindly.

"I'm fine," Himiko responded a bit more harshly than she wanted. "I'm fine, thanks, Kaede."

"Okay, then," Kaede said in a small voice and headed upstairs with the others. Himiko flipped through the channels, getting more annoyed because there was just nothing on!

"Pssst, Himikoooo," a voice came from behind the couch and she felt a finger tap her shoulder. Himiko recognized the voice immediately as Kokichi's and her heart began to race. She wanted to be angry, but his presence filled her with such excitement and joy that she couldn't bring herself to get upset.

"Whaddya want?" she asked, trying to sound annoyed. He plopped onto the couch beside her and showed her what looked like the cover of a horror movie.

"Wanna watch 'Brain-Munchers 'n Blood-Suckers' with me?" Kokichi asked with a large grin on his face.

"Nyeh...I'm not feeling well, Kokichi," Himiko responded. Even though she wanted to be alone, she didn't want Kokichi to leave her. But she also didn't want him to know that.

"Oh? What's wrong?" he asked. She looked at him incredulously. Like the others, he should know that Himiko gets like this every month; he's been around her long enough. But he had that innocent look on his face which made one think that either he's playing around and he knows what's up, or he actually doesn't know. Nobody can tell with Kokichi.

"I'm...having...er, girly pain," Himiko struggled to say. She wasn't sure if she should tell a boy the intricacies of what was going on with her. "It's, um...hard to explain."

"Oooohhh, you're on your period!" Kokichi blurted out. Himiko looked at him with shock and blushed.

"How did...don't just...why did..." Himiko stuttered.

"Nee-heehee, don't worry, Himiko!" Kokichi said. "I already know all about that stuff."

"Well, don't say it out loud!" Himiko wrapped the blanket tighter around her.

"Sorry," Kokichi replied. "Aaaanyhoo, wanna watch the movie with me?"

"Nyeh...if it'll get my mind off of what just happened, then I guess so," Himiko muttered. It was basically her subtle way of saying "YES, PLEASE!!! I'LL WATCH ANY MOVIE WITH YOU FOREVER!!!"

"Awesome sauce!" Kokichi said, and popped in the movie. It wasn't long before Kokichi and Himiko started screaming their heads off. The only difference was that Himiko's screams were legit. Kokichi had only been pretending to be scared, and the times that he pretended to shriek with fear, he'd hold Himiko close to him as she screamed out in actual terror. As if Himiko weren't already warm enough under her blanket, she felt a lot warmer and safer in Kokichi's arms, despite her fear.

"AAAAHHHHHH, SAVE ME, HIMIKO!!!" Kokichi shrieked with mock horror as he held Himiko closer to him.

"Nyeh...I can't," Himiko replied, covering her eyes with her blanket. "I don't even wanna look!" One of the monsters in the movie jumped on a person and began to suck their blood out and eat their brain.

"Oh, lawd, hammercy!" Kokichi shouted. "Don't look, Himiko! This part's really gory!" He cradled Himiko's head against his chest so she wouldn't see. Himiko could hear his heartbeat, the most beautiful sound she had ever heard. Oddly enough, however, his heart rate wasn't nearly as fast as hers which made Himiko think that maybe he was lying about being scared. Honestly, that didn't matter to her. What mattered was that she loved his arms being wrapped around her, and she wanted to enjoy this moment, despite what was happening in the movie. After what felt like hours, the movie finally ended.

"Whoooo, that was a doozy!" Kokichi exclaimed. "So, did you like it, Himiko?" He was still clinging on to Himiko, his hand resting on the back of her head which was still cradled against his chest.

"Yeah," Himiko responded dreamily, feeling the rhythm of Kokichi's breathing. "Oh! I mean, no, I hated that movie! It was gross!"

"Awwww, you hated it?" Kokichi said with mock disappointment. "That's wack sauce! I thought it was cool-io! Besides...horror movies can bring people closer together, ya know?" Even though Himiko couldn't see Kokichi's face, she could hear the slow smile spreading on it as she heard that. She didn't know what his intent was, but it couldn't have been because there might be a slight possibility that he likes her too, right? Then again, Kokichi did like to toy with people, so it was possible that maybe he was doing that to her. Whatever the case may be, she didn't want him to know about her crush, so she had to get him to let go of her, though she was reluctant to do so.

"Speaking of which," Himiko started. "Can you get off of me, Kokichi? I can't breathe."

"Oopsie-poopsie, my bad," Kokichi replied and let go of her and patted her on the head. "We should watch more scary movies like this more often, don't you think, HimiCocoa Bean?"

"Nyeh...I don't know," Himiko replied. "I don't like all that gory stuff!"

"Hmm...okay!" Kokichi said. "Next spooky movie we watch won't be gory! And I promise to keep my hands to myself next time!" Himiko felt as if that were a test because a Kokichi cast her a brief, meaningful look in his eye as if he were waiting to see how she'd respond to that.

"Keep your mouth to yourself, too," Himiko responded. "You were screaming a lot in my ear." She wished with all her might that she was brave enough to say how she really felt. She enjoyed Kokichi hugging her and screaming in her ear...even if it was fake screaming.

"I'm sowwy. I was sooo scawed," Kokichi pretended to pout. "But, if that's what you want, then it's a deal!" Kokichi added cheerfully. He then got up from the couch and waved goodbye to Himiko. "Welp, Himiko, goodnight! Sleep tight! Don't let the Brain-Munchers 'n Blood-Suckers bite!" He left with his laughter echoing behind him. Himiko felt her mood draining as she watched Kokichi leave. It seemed like he was the only one who could lift her mood when she was feeling down. It was also weird that, even though she hated horror movies, she was glad they existed!
