The next couple of days rolled by, the rising sun signaling the beginning of a new week which meant Kokichi had to do dishes with Maki for a full week. Unfortunately for Kokichi, time at school had flown by; he had been wishing that maybe the school would go on lockdown for whatever reason and that they'd have to stay at school overnight. As they were walking home, Kokichi had hoped that his and his classmates' house would just randomly burst into flames, or that an earthquake would happen and destroy it. Part of him wouldn't have minded if he got hit by a car. Anything to prevent him from working alongside Maki. As expected, dinner had passed as quickly as it came...and then, it was time. Most of the others had easy tasks, so they finished earlier than others. Himiko and Miu were some who finished early. Ryoma and Angie also finished early, since all they had to do was take out the trash. Tenko and Kiyo were in charge of the cooking, so they had already done their chores before dinner. Because grocery shopping and getting the mail were part of their chores, Rantaro and Gonta left the house to get groceries for the next day. Everyone else still had some chores left to do. Kokichi was hiding in his room, hoping that Maki would be okay doing chores on her own. He heard a knock at his door, causing him to jump out of his skin.

"Kokichi...it's me," Himiko called to him through the door. Kokichi ran to the door, threw it open, and pulled Himiko in before shutting it again.

"She isn't around, is she?" he asked, paranoia coursing through his veins.

"No, she's still eating," Himiko replied. "You know, it's weird that you're not afraid of her when she's trying to kill you, but if she has a crush on you, she's suddenly the most terrifying thing in the world."

"It's not that she's terrifying, it's just...she makes me sick to my stomach!" Kokichi said. "She's a murderer! Not only that, she's a murderer who probably has a crush on me! And that makes me SICK!"

"If you despise murderers so much, why do you bother Maki to the point where she tries to kill you?" Himiko asked with confusion.

"I don't know, okay?!" Kokichi replied. "My brain is weird! I just like the feeling of danger and narrowly escaping death. If she has a crush on me, then that just makes everything all weird! I dunno, it's hard to explain. *I* don't even know why I do the things I do!" He then sighed and leaned his head on Himiko's shoulder. "I'm a mess," he mumbled. Himiko held him and ran her fingers through his hair comfortingly.

"You'll be okay," she said. "If anything, I'm probably the one who's in danger, remember? She might try and kill me out of jealousy."

"She'd better not," Kokichi replied. "You make life fun with your magic." Himiko gave him a sly smile.

"Is that the ONLY reason I make life fun?" she asked.

"No..." Kokichi replied. "You're also very warm and cuddly. Can you run your fingers through my hair, again? That felt good." Himiko smiled and rolled her eyes at him as she began running her fingers through his hair. "Mmm...that feels so gooood," he moaned.

"Well, that's enough for now. I gotta get going," Himiko said. Kokichi looked at her in alarm.

"WHAT?!" he exclaimed. "Where are you going?!"
