The next afternoon, Kokichi and Himiko went up to Miu and Kaede's room, where the latter was sitting on her bed in an angry position; her arms were crossed and brought up so close to her chest, her knees were pressed very close together, and her lips were pursed tightly.

"What's wrong with you?" Kokichi asked. "You look like you just broke up with your piano. Nee-heehee!" Kaede glared at Kokichi.

"I'm mad because Miu left the window open...again!" she huffed.

"Nyeh...where is Miu, anyway?" Himiko asked.

"In the bathroom doing who cares!" Kaede spat. Suddenly, Miu came in carrying the small, pink bottle of perfume that she had sprayed Himiko with before.

"Stupid perfume!" Miu muttered to herself in annoyance. "God, it's like all my inventions are failing all of a sudden!" She threw the bottle into the trash.

"Gee, maybe it's because you're opening windows at night!" Kaede said. Miu whirled around angrily.

"I keep tellin' ya, it's not me, ya frikkin' skank!" she yelled. She and Kaede glared daggers at each other. Kokichi nudged Himiko and nodded over to Miu.

"Um...Miu?" Himiko asked in a small voice. Miu looked at Himiko, suddenly realizing that she was there.

"Huh? When did you two get in here?" she asked.

"We came in here while you were in the bathroom," Himiko replied timidly.

"Yeah, yeah, whaddya want?" Miu asked.

"Well, um...actually, I wanted more of that perfume that you made yesterday," Himiko said. "I really liked the smell of it."

"Sorry, half-pint, I dumped it down the toilet!" Miu said, waving her hand dismissively at Himiko. Himiko looked at her in alarm.

"What?! Why?!" she said. Miu smirked and began to laugh.

"Haha! Why? Did it make you finally get lucky with the liar last night?" she asked.

"Something like that," Kokichi replied with a smirk of his own. Miu looked at them in surprise.

"Huh! Guess that invention was good for somethin' after all!" she said.

"Why'd you toss it in the first place?" Kokichi pressed.

"Tuh! I made that dumb perfume to last a whole year, but it only lasted about a day!" Miu growled. Himiko looked perplexed. Then, she sniffed her arm. The scent was, in fact, gone. "That perfume was a bust just like that serum I threw out a week ago!" Himiko froze, suddenly remembering what Miu had told her a couple of days ago.
