"Make sure your eyes are closed," Mingyu reminded you.
"They are closed," You pointed out, referring to the blindfold he had put on your eyes earlier, "I literally cannot see a thing."
"Good! That's how it should be," Mingyu said.
"Where are you taking me?" You asked in a near whiny voice.
Your birthday was a week ago but due to unavoidable schedules, Mingyu couldn't celebrate it with you on the day. Although you didn't mind since Mingyu had made sure to deliver your gift on time as well as arrange for the delivery of a beautiful bouquet at your house on the day of your birthday.
However he still insisted on celebrating by taking you out on a special dinner with just the two of you. Mingyu wanted it to be special for you and absolutely refused to tell you where you are going.
He even picked you up at your apartment and had you blindfolded from the moment you sat in the car so you wouldn't even be able to see where he's taking you or if you are even in Seoul anymore.
The only thing he made sure to tell you was to dress nicely, whatever that even means.
"We're almost there. Just hold onto my hand," Mingyu told you. He was currently holding your wrist and guiding you since you clearly can't see where you are walking towards.
You could make out that there are a few steps in front of you judging by the sounds of Mingyu's steps and how you reached the first step.
As you stepped down, however, you slightly stumbled in your step and lost your footing, feeling yourself falling down.
Luckily Mingyu's reflexed were quick enough to catch you before you could truly fall, his hands on your waists as he steadied you.
"Why are you wearing heels?" Mingyu asked.
"You told me to dress nicely," You said.
"I said dress nicely, not wear heels," Mingyu said.
"Dress nicely means wearing heels," You pointed out.
You heard Mingyu sigh before he said, "This won't work."
Before you could even have a chance to ask him what he means, Mingyu hooked one arm under your knees and another arm behind your back to support and lifted you up from the ground, carrying you in bridal style.
You squealed as you felt yourself being lifted and desperately latched your arms around his neck for extra support.
"What are you doing?" You asked him.
"Making sure you don't fall," Mingyu said, "Stop moving so much. Otherwise I'll drop you."
That had instant effect on you and you immediately stopped squirming around in his arms, coming to a dead still.
"Okay we're here," Mingyu finally announced after a while, setting you down on your two feet.
"Close your eyes," Mingyu said.
"They haven't been open for literally a hour now," You told him bluntly.
"I'll remove your blindfold," Mingyu said and you heard him shift towards you back as his fingers worked on loosening the knot of the blindfold.
"Can I open my eyes now?" You asked with impatience.
"Yes," Mingyu said, taking a step away from you.
You slowly opened your eyes, blinking a little as they adjusted to the dim lights after being closed for so long and gasped when you saw what was in front of you.
You were in the middle of a beautiful circular garden with beautiful flowers all around which had fair lights hanging around them, giving the garden a magical and soft feel to it. In the exact middle of the garden was a picnic mat with two large picnic baskets and a plates, forks, spoons and wine glasses.
There were also two candles lit in the middle of the picnic mat, making it seem like a candlelight dinner.
"Did you do all of this?" You asked.
"Didn't you say you wanted to do a midnight picnic once," Mingyu said, walking towards the table.
"I even bought blankets just in case we end up falling asleep here. To be on the safer side," Mingyu told him.
You, on the other hand, were still in amazement and shock and asked, "Wait, did you rent this place?"
Mingyu nodded and said, "Yeah, for the night."
"Mingyu. . ." You were absolutely speechless, "I don't deserve this."
"Of course you deserve this," Mingyu said, looking at you.
"No. . .but this is too much. You already gave me such an expensive gift. This is too much," You said, blinking away your tears.
"If I could, I would even go and buy the moon for you. So this is nothing. This is how I want to express my love for you so just take it," Mingyu told you.
"I love you so much," You told him.
"And I love you even more," Mingyu answered back.
Okay, I'm a hardcore Joshua stan but these days Mingyu has me literally loosing it all. Like how can a person be this perfect and this absolute??? Ugh also his visuals literally kill me. I can't anymore. I literally get bias wrecked by everyone in this damn group.
