Judged by the way Kai spoke, he seemed to know already who Jungkook was.

In fact, it wouldn't have been hard to figure it out. Jungkook's name appeared on finance newspapers and TV shows quite frequently these days.

"Kai, I spoke with him today, and I'm never going to see him again," Lisa explained patiently. "I just want to be with you. Don't be upset anymore, okay?"

"Like I'd believe any more of your bullshit. Do you still think I'm going to marry you? I would have to be insane! What, am I just going to wait for you to have your little affair after the wedding?" With that, Kai picked up his leather suitcase bitterly and headed towards the door.

Lisa reached out to stop him. "Did you really mean what you just said?" she asked again.

"Get out of my way! I don't want to talk to you. If you ask me, I think it's better for you to quit your job. After all, it wouldn't be good for us to work at the same hospital anyways. I'm a doctor, so I'm naturally not going to quit. You're just a nurse without much prospect, so why don't you just go find your ex-boyfriend and live the high life?"

With that, Kai angrily shook off lisa's hand, shoved open the door, and left.

As she watched Kai walked away, Lisa was surprised that she didn't feel the slightest bit of sadness.

It was as if she could finally let out the breath that she had been holding for a long time. But… how could that be the case?

She was left dumbstruck by her own realization...

A moment later, she took out her cell phone and sent a WeChat message to Chaeyoung.

"Chae, what are you doing right now?"

I just got off a flight, and I'm eating instant noodles right now."

"Come out for a drink, my boyfriend and I just broke up. I should be upset, right?"

"Ahem… You guys broke up? What happened? Did Jungkook leave the country again?"

"Please, girl. My current boyfriend was Kai not Jungkook."

"Oh, that guy. You should've gotten rid of him long ago. He wasn't good enough for you anyways."

"Alright, stop blabbing. Are you coming?"

"Of course! You find a place, and I'll be right there."

Lisa's best friend, Chaeyoung, was indeed true to her words. Twenty minutes later, she arrived at Wild Night Bar.

As a flight attendant, her appeal was unquestionable, and the skin-tight black dress she wore made her look especially alluring.

Lisa, on the other hand, didn't look like someone who was enjoying a night out at all. In fact, she was dressed more like a casual teen girl with her baggy jeans and a white crop top.

"Come on, we're out to play. Can't you dress up a little? Don't be so boring."

Lisa smiled, "I am not really into fashion, and I've never had many clothes. "

Over the past few years, half of her salary had gone to support her brother in his studies, and the other half had been saved to buy a home with Kai. She didn't spend much money on herself.

It was true that she didn't have a lot of nice clothes. Even the dress she had worn to the high school reunion originally belonged to Chaeyoung. Chaeyoung bought it a while ago but then decided that she didn't want to wear it, so she gave it to Lisa.

For such a beautiful young girl of only twenty-four years old, she really hadn't indulged in the finer things in life.

"Lis, leaving Kai is no big deal. He's doesn't know what he's losing. You know what they say, some people don't know a good thing when they see it. He's blind, and that's why he left you."
