Krystal's pregnant belly was becoming pretty obvious, even though she was wearing baggy Korean-style clothes.

"You're here?" Krystal asked faintly as she looked at Lisa.

She wasn't happy to see her, but she definitely wasn't mocking her or being sarcastic like she used to.

"Yeah." Lisa nodded.

"Head Nurse, please monitor the patient in room 3. She's beginning to bleed, but she's not all the way dilated yet. She's insisting on a natural birth, so take her to the OR as soon as her water breaks."

"Okay, Dr. Jung." The head nurse nodded.

Krystal glanced at Lisa, and then she said slowly, "Let's talk."

The others were shocked by how peaceful Krystal sounded towards Lisa...

They all knew that Lisa saved Krystal and her baby's lives at a time of crisis, but they didn't know that Krystal's entire attitude towards Lisa had changed.

"Sure."

She didn't know what Krystal wanted to talk to her about, but she could tell from her depressed expression that she was no longer treating her like a nemesis.

She followed Krystal out of the OB/GYN clinic and into her private office.

"Have a seat." Krystal then poured her a cup of water from the drinking fountain.

"Thank you." Lisa was shocked; Krystal seemed much more mellow than she used to be.

"Are you shocked by how much I've changed?" Krystal noticed Lisa's surprise and asked with a smile.

"Yeah, a little."

"My parents also said that I've changed a lot. I think... it's probably because I'm going to be a mother soon. I'm probably radiating a motherly aura."

Then, Krystal smiled and sat down in the office chair across from Lisa...

"How have you been?" Krystal took the initiative and asked.

"Pretty good."

"I envy you, you always seem as free as a bird," Krystal exclaimed.

"You will too."

"No... I won't. Lisa, did you know? I finally came to the realization that my marriage with Kai was a complete mistake. Our relationship isn't what I thought it is. I used to foolishly think it was because you were interfering with us and that Kai wasn't over you, and that's why I kept giving you a hard time. Now that I think back at everything, I feel like an idiot. It was never your problem to begin with."

"Did something... happen between you guys?" Lisa figured that something must have happened between them for Krystal to say all that.

Krystal smiled bitterly, "Lisa, you were right about leaving him. Kai isn't what he claims to be. He is the ultimate hypocrite..."

Lisa didn't say anything... She didn't want to say bad things about an ex-boyfriend, because it was all in the past. However, upon hearing Krystal talk about Kai like that, she was suddenly at a loss for words.

"Lisa, did you know that I used to hate how you always looked so calm and rational? I thought you were being pretentious. But now, I realized that it's because I'm too stupid. You were able to leave him because you were rational. I fell too hard for him, and that's why I'm stuck. Kai doesn't love me, he loves my family's money and power, and my uncle's position and reputation."

"Maybe he really does like you," Lisa consoled.

"Hahaha... that's what I used to tell myself, but the truth is, he doesn't. He only loves himself. The only thing he cares about is power, reputation, and whether he can be promoted. We began sleeping in separate rooms ever since I was discharged from the hospital, and I barely see him during the day. We don't even have anything to talk about anymore."
