Amelia groaned when she opened her eyes. Kumunot ang noo niya nang makitang puting puti ang buong paligid. She looked around and found herself lying in a clinic bed.
Napakagat labi siya nang makita si Sam na nasa gilid niya. Tulog ito habang hawak hawak ang kamay niya. Hinaplos niya ang ulo nito. Sam must have stayed with her
She must have been so exhausted lately. Ang dami niya din kasing inaasikaso. Maybe that's why she fainted. She sighed. Hindi niya tuloy alam kung anong nangyari. Sana naman ahy hindi nag panic ang mga managers at investors sa nangyari. The last thing she wanted is a bad reputation among the investors and the staffs.
"Oh, you are already awake, Mrs Montenegro."
Alanganing ngumiti siya dito. "I must be tired. Pasensiya na at naabala pa kayo."
"It's ok but I just have a few questions for you."
The nurse had a frown on her face. "Wala ka namang ibang history ng sakit. Hindi ba Mrs Montenegro."
"Y-Yes."
"Fainting in the morning is not a good sign unless you have other symptoms. I suggest you have to do some check-ups with your doctor." The nurse smiled at her and looked at Sam sleeping on her side. "She's been here the whole time. Tinatanong niya ako kung ano daw ang dahilan ng pagkahilo mo. I don't have a definite answer yet, but she told me you vomited this morning. You also gagged when you smelled the food earlier."
Her heart beats against her ribcage. Unti unting nabuo ang konklusyon sa utak niya sa sinasabi ng nurse. Alam na niya kung ano ang tinutumbok nito at parang lumalaki ang ulo niya sa naiisip.
"So I am asking you this last question to confirm my suspicion. Did you have your menstrual cycle this month, Mrs Montenegro?"
Sa huling sinabi nito ay tumigil sa pag tibok ang puso niya. Nanginig ang mga kamay niya at pinagpawisan siya ng malapot. What should she do? Buntis nga ba siya? And for the secondf time around ay si Christian ulit ang ama?
Damn it!
Napahawak siya sa ulo niya. "H-Hindi pa ako dinadatnan."
Now that she thinks back on it. Lagpas na ng tatlong araw ang period niya. She was supposed to have it noong nakaraang araw but she ignored it thinking that her period must have missed a few days but it will eventually come.
"Isn't that good news? I'm sure your husband would be pleased."
Amelia closed her eyes tightly. "T-Thank you for informing me."
Muling ngumiti ang nurse at tumango sa kanya. Lumabas ito ng kwarto. Just then Sam groaned and opened her eyes. Agad itong napatingin sa kanya at kumunot ang noo nang makitang tulala siya.
"W-What did the nurse told you? Kailangan ba nating pumunta sa doctor para makapag pa-check up ka?" Sam fussed over her pero hindi niya na napigilan ang pag init ng sulok ng mga mata niya. Lalo ata itong nag alala. "Amelia.... please talk to me. Natatakot ako. Bakit ka umiiyak?"
Amelia shook her head. Her heart is constricting habang nakatingin sa maganda nitong mukha. The face that she wanted to look at every day in the morning. Matatanggap ba nito ang magiging anak niya? Gugustuhin pa kaya ni Sam na matuloy ang divorce kung may maapektuhan nang bata? Would they even be together after she told Sam the truth?
Would she even want her child to have a broken family?
"Amelia...."
Lumakas ang iyak niya hanggang sa naging hagulgol iyon. Kahit hindi siya mag pregnancy test ay alam na niya ang resulta. The symptoms that the nurse told her before and she had experience before are not lying. She doesn't want to break Sam's heart with the news.
Oh God! Napasubsob siya sa kamay niya at umiyak ng umiyak doon.
Sam hugged her tight. Hinaplos haplos nito ang likod niya. "It's alright. I'm here."
Amelia shook her head. Parang hindi niya na kayang ituloy pa ang dalawang araw sa business trip. She needed to confirm her suspicion and come clean with everyone, including Sam, Christian and herself. Her decision from here on could affect everything.

Amelia felt like the last 2 days came by in a blur. Sam already had her mentorship done and is now taking on the role of the CEO for the whole Del Rio enterprise. Busy ito dahil inaasikaso na nito ang turn over ceremony ngayon. She took that time to finally came to a decision.
And she already did the pregnancy test. Hindi na siya nagulat nang makitang dalawang guhit ang nandoon. She hadn't told anyone yet. Even Bridgette. Gusto niya munang pag isipang maigi ang lahat.
She put the pregnancy test kit and the divorce papers on the table. Pinagmasdan niya ang dalawa at pumintig na naman ang ugat sa sentido niya. Hindi niya alam kung anong magiging desisyon niya.
Tumingin siya sa taas at nag usal ng isang dasal. "God give me the strength and the courage to go with my instinct. Sana tama ang piliin ko."
She bit her lip. She loved Sam so much. Handa na siyang iwan ang lahat para dito. She wanted a new life a new beginning. Napahaplos siya sa tiyan niya.
"But how about you? Who would you rather be, baby?"
She fondly caressed her stomach. Kahit naman kasi si Christian ang ama nito ay hindi niya maitatanggi na parte din niya ito. The baby is half hers. Gusto niyang ingatan ito. Kagaya ng hindi niya nagawa noon para sa kapatid nito.
For a long time, she wished that she and Chrisitan would have another child to have another chance at their marriage. Pero iba na ang lahat ngayon. There's Sam the woman she loved. Wala na din siyang nararamdaman kay Christian. Would it be worth it, kung itutuloy niya ang relasyon niya kay Christian? Would she still be able to love him despite the fear that he would cheat again or that he would curse her again if she had another miscarriage?
Madaming what ifs ang tumatakbo sa isip niya ng mga oras na iyon.
She sighed and started to arrange the divorce papers and the pregnancy test on the table. Kailangan niya munang tapusin ang ibang paperworks niya. She had to keep herself busy for now or she'll go crazy.
Just then her phone pinged. Napatingin siya doon. Thinking that it was Sam but when she saw who texted her ay bumagsak ang mga ngiti niya. It was Christian.
She knew that Sam was busy at nag message naman ito kanina na ma-b-busy ito. But still she was hoping that Sam would text her. Miss na niya ito.
'Hi, Hon. Wanna grab lunch with me? Dumaan ako sa kumpare ko at may dala dala din akong prutas para sayo.'
She looks up at the clock. It was nearing 11 am. Hindi pa siya handang makita si Christian. Until she sorts things out. She took her phone and made a quick reply.
'No. Christian. I'm sorry may lunch meeting ako sa ibang investors. Magkita na lang tayo mamayang gabi.'
After sending it ay ilang segundo lang na nag reply na ito.
'I miss you so much, Honey. But I'll respect your decision. Susunduin na lang kita mamayang gabi.'
Amelia put the phone down after reading it. She sighed. This is the moment that she's been waiting for. Kailangan niya na ngang sabihin dito ang lahat and her decision regarding everything. Sana nga ay tama ang magiging desisyon niya.
