EPILOGUE

"Time of death. 1:30 am." The doctor shook his head and tapped Amelia on the shoulder. Bago ito lumabas sa mortuary room. He held the certificate of death in his hands. He gently closed the door behind him.

Amelia wiped her tears and looked at the two bodies of both best friends. They were lying on a hospital bed and were covered with a white blanket.

Pigil niya ang emosyon niya nang lumapit siya sa katawan ni Sam at inalis ang kumot sa mukha nito. She caressed Sam's face before slapping it hard.

Napabalikwas ito ng bangon. Masama ang tingin na tiningnan nito ang bestfriend nitong si Cha na bumangon din sa kinahihigaan nito. Sam's betsfriend was laughing and was clutching her stomach.

Nakasimangot naman na hinampas ito ni Sam nang putting kumot. Bumaling ito sa kanya na nakangiwi.

"I-I'm sorry, Amelia---"

"Damn it Samantha! Kung hindi ko nabasa ang sulat na ginawa mo kagabi. Mabubulok kayong dalawa ni Charity dito sa morgue!"

Nag init ang sulok ng mga mata niya. "I was tempted to stop you but it was too late. So I played along! Bakit ba nakakainis ka!?"

Hinampas niya ito sa braso ng ilang ulit na hindi naman nito nilabanan. Na-b-bwisit talaga siya at tinuloy pa din nito ang plano. She thought they had gone to plan B. Bakit ba lagi na lang siya nitong pinag aalala?

"I hate you, Samantha!"

"I-I'm sorry, Baby. But it has to be that way."

Nakasimangot na tinapon niya sa katawan nito ang damit na hiningi nito. Kung hindi niya lang talaga ito mahal. Hindi niya ito pupuntahan sa morgue.

Napailing na lang si Amelia nang maalala ang ginawa ng girlfriend niya. Their plan was to get shot in front of all the board members to make it believable. They hired the same man who almost took Sam's life in that parking lot. They offered him a generous amount of money and support his family. Especially his daughters to get into a good college. Hindi natanggihan ng lalake ang offer and he agreed.

The plan was he would shoot Charity and Sam in the chest with a wax bullet. Napangiti si Amelia nang maalala kung paano i-describe sa kanya ni Sam nang mabaril ito sa dibdib. Akala talaga nito ay namatay na ito if not for the bullet proof she had on. Then after that, they had to also deceive the whole world that Sam and Cha died. Para kunwari ay wala nang successor ang kumpanya. Then they waited for a month to see who was on their side and who was on the side of Mr Hermano. After that, they gathered evidence against the moles and would reveal them in perfect time.

But she hates to admit it. The plan was drastic but thorough. Mukhang gusto nga talagang alisin ng mag bestfriend ang moles sa loob ng kumpanay ng Del Rio Empire pero hind naman mapipigilan ng mga ito ang pag usbong ng ibang mga nagtatangkang magkaroon ng kapangyarihan. If there's good there's also evil.

Kaya siguro for the past month. There was a power struggle inside the company. They sat back and watched all the board members clamour to take the presidency. The stocks plummeted and the other board members left to save themselves. Pero mukhang gustong gusto ng Vice-President na makuha ang posisyon ng matandang Del Rio. He pronounced himself the President of the company after a month.

The board members who supported Mr. Hermano stayed in the company. Pero ngayon alam na nila kung sino sino ang sangkot sa operasyon nito.

The company got stable for a while dahil sa pag upo nito bilang president. He gathered all the board members and invited some of the stakeholders and shareholders of the company to one event. To declare his presidency, but he had one thing coming.

Napangiti si Amelia and held Sam's hands.

Nakangiting tumango sa kanya si Sam. Hawak hawak nito sa kabilang kamay ang suot suot nitong maskara. The dressed code is befitting for all of them. Aalisin na nila ang maskara ni Mr Hermano.

"And now! For his speech. Let's all welcome Mr Alan Hermano! The new president of the Del Rio's Empire!"

Amelia clapped her hands and Sam also did the same. Kita niya ang ngiti sa labi ng girlfriend niya at umiiling iling pa ito.

Mr Hermano looked like a stuffed pig under his suit. Namumutok na kasi ang suot suot nitong damit at tila ano mang oras ay mag sisitanggalan ang butones nito.

He took off his mask, walked to the podium, and held the microphone. He leaned in and spoke. "As you all know, the daughter of my very old best friend Rodrigo passed away and also her best friend Charity De Dios. Wala nang kasunod na mag mamana ng kumpanya at ako na ang sunod sa succession."

Amelia shook her head dahil rinig niya sa boses nito ang excitement at saya. Pinisil niya ang kamay ni Sam dahil nakita niya ang panginginig nito. Sam's smile also vanished. She leaned in and whispered in Sam's ear.

"Don't worry. He'll have his place soon."

Sa sinabi niya ay inihilig nito ang ulo sa balikat niya.

"Hindi ko lang kasi matanggap that he would call my father his bestfriend. He killed him."

Puno ng sakit ang boses nito and Amelia caressed Sam's hair.

In turn Sam caressed her stomach. Inalis nito ang pagkakahilig sa balikat niya at tumayo. "It's time."

Humalik ito sa labi niya at sa tiyan niya bago ito tumalikod.

Amelia felt her heart hammered against her chest. Sana ay maging maayos ang plano nito.

"I am standing on this podium as a representative of the Del Rio's Empire. I'll lead the way to more innovation and more opportunities for all the employers in the company. I am your new-----"

He stopped mid-sentence when Sam stepped on the stairs of the podium. Lito ang mukha na napatitig ito sa girlfriend niya. Amelia gritted her teeth. He better not be planning something!

Kinuyom niya ang kamao niya. She only released it when the police appeared and handcuffed Mr Hermano.

Sam took her mask off and smiled.

"You are under arrest for the attempted murder of Ms Samantha Del Rio and Ms Charity De Dios. You are also under arrest for the murder of Mr Rodrigo Del Rio and the embezzlement of Del Rio's funds on an offshore account. You have the right to remain silent and get an attorney."

"T-Teka!" Mr Hermano struggled on stage and looked at her girlfriend with a terrified expression on his face.

The crowd gasped and murmured among themselves. Nagkagulo na nang isa isang nilagyan ng posas ang mga taong kasama ni Mr Hermano sa plano nitong pag patay sa Matandang Del Rio at sa pagtangka nito sa buhay ng girlfriend niya at ni Cha.

Sam went towards the podium and held the microphone. "Good evening everyone. We'll escort the bad people out but we would still continue the event. I'm sorry you all have to see that. But since this event is for the announcement of the new President. I'm going to take this opportunity to say that I'm taking back what's mine. Yes, I planned this whole thing elaborately. So anyone who is opposed to my position is free to leave the company. I won't be tolerating moles and traitors. Alam niyo na ang mangyayari."

They escorted Mr Hermano out of the podium while he struggled looking at her girlfriend's face. Nang tuluyan nang makaalis ang mga police ay bumababa na din si Sam sa podium.

And Amelia couldn't be prouder while looking at her girlfriend.
