Sam bit her lip and looked out of the window. Nasa ospital siya at dinalaw ang Dad niya. Cha's father stepped out for a bit para bigyan siya ng privacy with her Dad.

Hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa nagigising ang Dad niya. The Doctor couldn't quite pinpoint the reason why. They told her that only the machine was keeping him alive. After that ay iba't ibang kumplikasyon na ang kakaharapin ng Dad niya. Her father could develop pneumonia habang nakahiga ito. He also had a risk of a heart attack.

Hinaplos niya ang ulo ng Dad niya. Pumikit siya at taimtin na nagdasal para sa pag galing nito.
"Dad. Thank you for straightning my path. I promise I'll make you proud from now on." Ngumiti siya at hinalikan ang ulo nito. "I will also ask Amelia to live with me. Siya na ang babaeng gusto kong makasama, Dad. Thank you for making me meet her. She's the best gift you had given me."
Nag init ang sulok ng mga mata niya. She knew one of these days ay mamamaalam na siya sa Dad niya. He had it on his will that if he ever comes into a coma and wouldn't wake up for a month ay aalisin na ang life support nito. He had it all planned out.

Tumayo na siya at pinisil ang kamay nito. "I'll get going, Dad. Simula na po ng pag take over ko sa kumpanya. Wish me luck."
Lumabas siya sa kwarto nito and found her father's bestfriend standing on the door way. Ngumiti agad ito nang makita siya.
"You looked stunning, Sam. Siguradong proud sayo ang Dad mo."
Nakasuot na kasi siya ng pormal attire para sa gaganaping turn over ceremony.
"Thank you po." She smiled one last time at Mr De Dios and left the hospital.

Sam inwardly cursed nang makita ang ngiti ni Mr. Hermano sa kanya. The old man made sure to stand next to her as if they were close nang ipakilala na siya ng abogado ng Dad niya sa buong board members.
Isa isa niyang nginitian ang mga nandoon.
She knew that they are anxious about her taking over because of her reputation. Kaya siguro naisip ng Dad niya na i-train siya ni Amelia. Her father knew how to play the game.
And according to Amelia she just has to reassure the board members that even though she was young. She's capable and willing to try everything.
"Good morning." She made sure that her voice is steady as she addressed all the older board members. "I'm here to take over the Del Rio's Enterprise. As you all know. My father is very wise and is capable of handling the whole empire. Alam ko din na alam niyo ang reputation ko. But my father made sure that I will train under someone who's more capable than him. You know Amelia Montenegro of the RC2s, right? She was young and a woman pero hindi niya iyon hinayaan na maging definition niya. She rose above the expectation of being a young woman in the business world. That's also the principles and aspirations I lived by."
Mr. Hermano sat on his chairs nang tingnan niya ito ng seryoso. He had a look of smugness in him. Palihim siyang umirap at humarap ulit sa ibang board members.
"I may be young but you can expect innovative ways that I'll handle the business. Hindi porke't babae ako at bata ay mahina na ako when it comes to business. Dugong Del Rio pa rin ang nananalantay sa katawan ko. Binago ko na din ang sarili ko. I can assure you all that you can expect great things from me."
Ilang minuto na natahimik ang mga ito nang sabihin niya iyon. Some of the younger board members applauded her while the older ones are left to murmur among themselves. Kahit ganun ay pinanatili niya ang ngiti sa mga labi niya. She shouldn't be intimidated. That's the first thing that Amelia had thought her.
Speaking of Amelia, matapos lang ang araw na ito ay pupuntahan niya ito sa office nito para yayain itong kumain mamaya. She's sure that Amelia would be glad to know what happened during the take over ceremony.
Isa pa ay nag aalala din siyang baka nag papakapagod ito sa trabaho kaya hinimatay noong nakaraan. She need to take care of Amelia too. Ayaw na din kasi nitong magpa ospital noong nakaraan.
Mag aalala pa naman sana siya but Amelia assured her na natakot lang daw ito na may posibilidad na namtay ito ng araw na iyon. Which she understands. Mabuti na lang at it was nothing serious.
"Very well said. Ms Del Rio." Mr Hermano clapped his hands and the murmuring among the older board members hushed.
She gritted her teeth. Halatang gusto pa ng mga matatandang board members na si Mr. Hermano ang susunod na president at CEO. They followed his praises and clapped their hands like sheeps. Mukha bang mas may karapatan ito kesa sa kanya? She's the daughter for goodness sake. Siguradong tatahimik ang mga ito kung ang Dad niya ang nasa tabi niya. But she has no one but Amelia. And it's all the support she needed.
She'll just have to show them who's the real boss here and the heir of the Del Rio's Enterprise.
Maghapon ata siyang nakipag plastikan sa mga older board members. But she finds pleasantries with the younger generation dahil mukhang boto ang mga ito sa kanya. Before she knew it ay gabi na. Tapos na din ang turn over ceremony and she noted the people that she needed to be cautious of and those that are willing to be on her side. It's all mind games that its making her stressed.
She groaned and pressed her temples nang makaupo na siya sa sasakyan niya. Mabuti na lang that at the end of the day ay makikita niya si Amelia mamaya. Sa naisip ay hindi niya maiwasan ang ngiti sa labi niya.
Tiningnan niya ang mga message nito. Ngayon lang kasi siya nagkaroon ng pagkakataon na i-check ang mga message nito. She was so busy dahil madami siyang pinirmahan na kailangan niya ding basahin. Plus the pleasantries that she had to deal with.
'I miss you, Samantha.'
'Pansinin mo naman ako. But never mind I know you are busy. I know how it feels like with that kind of crowd.'
'Text me. If you have the time.'
'I love you.'
Muling lumarawan ang ngiti sa mga labi niya. Ang alam ni Amelia ay baka hindi niya na ito mapuntahan dahil sa sobrang busy niya. Hndi niya na nga din ito na text buong maghapon. Noong umaga lang.
Siguro ay matutuwa ito kung s-surpresahin niya. With that in mind ay minaniobra niya na ang sasakyan palabas ng parking lot ng Del Rio's Enterprise building. Deritso sa RC2 ang tinatahak ng sasakyan niya.
She hoped Amelia would be happy na magkasama silang kakain mamaya.
