Maa said and they both got up. Papa came to me and raised my face. He caressed my cheeks and said something that made me shocked to my core.
I never expected them to say this...
They said
"Iris, you are getting married"
"M-Married?"
I shuttered. My eyes went wide with shock and my heartbeat fasten.
Marriage is something I haven't thought about yet!
I looked at both of them in shock they were also looking at me, their face expecting an answer which I am unable to give.
"Yes.."
Maa said with a dejected smile. My face went pale and I stood up not being able to digest that sudden decision.
"B-But why? I mean-.."
"Iris, you said you trust us right? Youknow we love you more thananything.. we will not do anything wrong with you.."
Papa said, his face showing Sligh wrinkles which only come visible when he is tense. I looked into his eyes and saw the desperation for me to say yes. I nodded my head slowly allowing him to continue.
"Then sweetheart, try to trust us on this too. Whatever we are doing is for your good. Please trust on this.."
I looked at him for a second trying to digest everything. I know whatever he will do is for my good but Am I ready?
