Third person POV

Later in the afternoon, at 3:22 p.m., Kevin, Wesley, James, and two other zombified soldiers are patrolling a forest area northwest of Kaleb's base. It was a quiet afternoon, with birds flying across the clear sky with a few, white clouds.

"My combat training was improving a lot," Kevin commented to his cousin as he holds his gun.

He was wearing a different set of clothes just because Toshi wants him to, which was simple white, collared, polo shirt with buttons and short sleeves, a black necktie, and soft brown pants with pockets, complete with a leather belt and a pair of leather, military-style boots.

"Yeah, me too as well," Wesley responded back positively.

Then, they stopped walking when they heard some angry yelling and a scream of a girl.

"Is that a girl's scream?" Kevin asked upon recognizing the voice as of a girl.

"I think so," James replied back.

"It might be someone is beating her up, too," Wesley suggested.

  "Right," Kevin responded.

"Let's check it out before it's too late," one of the infected soldiers suggested in response.

Kevin and the others agreed with him, and they all snuck in to where that scream came from.

When they got closer and hid behind some trees to take a peek, they were surprised to see three armed men beating up not just a girl, but also a woman, who was the girl's mother. Both of them had blond, long hair and black eyes.

"What in the flippin' world?" Kevin commented in a low voice.

"This is so cruel," Wesley added in a low voice, too.

"Let's stop them," James said to them.

After that, he gestures to Kevin to attack first with his katana, before gesturing to Wesley to take care of the second terrorist, while he and the others will take care of the third one and rescue the woman and her child.

The others nodded in agreement, and they all come out of their hiding place, with Kevin drawing out his katana and charged at the one of the armed men, who are about to pull the trigger on the woman and her child.

Kevin then raged out as Kako, catching the armed men's attention.

"What the hell?" one of them responded back. "Who's that little bitch?"

He then aimed his FN Scar 17 machine gun at Kevin and fired it, alongside his two comrades.

But Kevin and Kako dodged their shots with speed and stabbed the first terrorist in the stomach with brutality, killing him instantly, and his body fell to the ground.

As Kevin pulls out his katana out and the remaining armed men were seeing this in surprise, Wesley comes out firing his machine gun at the two terrorists, killing one of them, before James came out with his pistol firing it at the third terrorist. His other infected comrades then get the woman and her child out of the area. And so, three terrorists are killed by Kevin and his group.

But then, one of the dead armed men had a walkie-talkie, so Kevin, as Toshi, goes to pick it up and answered it with a serious Japanese accent, "You little bitch..." He then throws that device and stumped on it, breaking any connection to whoever is in the call. After that, James commented, "Wow, Toshi, your accent is quite serious." Kevin then turned around and replied, "Thanks, I am an investigator and a detective."

  "I see."

They then collected all the valuable and useful stuff and weapons from the three dead armed men for themselves and their group back at Kaleb's base.

They all left the area to see if the woman and her child were okay.

When they arrived there, they were scared of the infected soldiers because one of them took off his shades to reveal his blood-red eyes.

"It's okay, ma'am," one of them reassured the woman and her child. "We're not gonna hurt or bite you."

Kevin and Wesley then came in and Kevin confirmed that by being near to one of the infected soldiers.

"You may see it now," Wesley said to them.

The woman and her child then looked at him and Kevin, only to see that they, humans, didn't got attacked by the infected soldiers.

"You didn't get bitten," the woman, Kelly Danes, said to them. "How? Did you have some sort of protection device on you or something?"

"Nope!" Kevin responded back happily. "They and this one is now rogue zombies.

"Rogue zombies?" Kelly raised a question.

"What are those?" her daughter, Paloma, added.

To that Kevin used his own definition of a rogue zombie as an explanation to Kelly and Paloma.

"Oh, so they managed to regain their consciousness and senses somehow?" Kelly commented.

"Yes, and we still don't know how that happened," James replied back.

"I'm still investigating though," Kevin added.

Kelly and Paloma then get what they had said.

After that, James suggested to Kelly and Paloma to stay at Kaleb's base for safety.

"Are they hostile, too?" Kelly asked in unsure.

"Don't worry," Wesley answered back. "There are survivors, too, and they are working with the infected soldiers."

  "Are they?" Paloma replied.

Wesley then nodded to say yes.

Eventually, Kelly and Paloma agreed with them, and they all went back to Kaleb's base.
