Third person POV

The day after Kevin's departure, at the main headquarters of the US military, Peter and his subordinates are focusing on their operations. But the main focus is on Kaleb's base.

"We had no idea how the power was restored in that base," Peter said to them. "Are there any survivors in that base?"

In response to that, one of his subordinates checked her radar and clicked to see if there any survivors in Kaleb's base.

"Um, sir, there is," that subordinate responded.

Upon hearing that, Peter went to that subordinate's spot and sees the figures in the base's database, which was operated by John.

  "65?" he asked.

"Yes, and it includes women and children as well," his subordinate replied back.

"How in the world they managed to survive living with our infected division?" Peter asked.

Thinking fast, he ordered a call to that base.

"Yes, sir," another of his subordinates responded, before grabbing the handset of the telephone and dialed the number of Kaleb's base.

Meanwhile, Tim was overlooking the operations on Kaleb's behalf when that call came to the office's telephone. Upon noticing it ring, he grabbed it and answered, "Hello? Salvation Division. This is Tim speaking."

At the other end, Peter responded, "Tim? As in, Tim Mac?"

"Yes, it's me," Tim replied back.

  "Where's Kaleb?" Peter asked.

  "Um...," Tim responded.

Just then, right in time, Kaleb came to the room asking, "Hey, Tim, did I forget my 4th magazine for my sniper rifle?"

But, he saw what was happening, and he then asked, "Who's your calling?"

Upon hearing that, Tim turned to his right and responded to Kaleb, "Oh, it's Peter, from the main headquarters."

Kaleb was very surprised, and he responded with, "What? You mean Peter Maine?"

Glancing at the telephone and back at Kaleb, Tim answered back, "Yes."

"Give it to me," Kaleb said to him.

Tim did so, and Kaleb took the call.

  "Hello, Peter?" he responded.

"Woah, is that you, Kaleb, Kaleb Kony?" Peter replied.

"Yes, reporting for duty," Kaleb said.

  "Are you infected?" Peter asked.

"Yes, currently," Kaleb responded back, "hoping for a cure."

"I see, is there any attack on that base?"

  "Yes, once."

  "By who?"

"I don't know. Might be a bunch of terrorists."

  "Okay, what happened after that?"

"We defeated them, and a kid finished their leader with a katana."

"What? A kid with a katana? What are you talking about?"

"Yeah, it's for real. That kid was armed with a literal katana, a legit katana."

"Okay then, any child warriors there?"

"Yes, used to be. Another one is a teenager from Japan and the Philippines, and he was armed with a machine gun."

  "A foreign biracial?"

  "Yeah, like that."

  "Where are they now?"

"They left yesterday, going to Savannah, Georgia to catch a plane to the West Coast."

"Oh, too bad. I supposed to speak to them."

"I see. I didn't have their phone numbers yet."

"It's okay. How about their names? You know them?"

"Oh, yes, their names are Kevin Algos Casas-Cruz and Wesley Magkalon Kurusawa-Casas. Ages 12 and 15."

"Wow, they're quite young. And, their names are a bit strange."

  "Yeah, they are."

"I see. We'll be there to see it for myself."

"Okay, okay. Don't worry, all of the soldiers in my division had stopped attacking humans and now cooperating with the survivors here."

"Strange, but thanks for the info."

  "Yeah, okay, bye."

They then both ended their conversation.

And so, the next day, Peter came to Kaleb's base via an armored vehicle, only to see the cooperation Kaleb and his infected soldiers made with the survivors. He then asked Kaleb how al that happened. Kaleb then responded by saying that they became Rogue zombies. But Peter was new to that so he asked again, "What's that?"

Kaleb then used Kevin's own definition as an explanation to that.

  "I see," Peter replied.

Then, Jane said to Peter, "Yeah, and we had been working together for months now."

"That's strange. Those kids might be so smart," Peter remarked.

"Yes, it was Kevin's own creation of that concept," Kaleb responded.

"Okay, he's smarter than I thought."

  "Yes, he is," Jane replied.

After that, Peter and his squad of soldiers, who wore hazmat suits just in case of an infection, kept on checking and inspecting Kaleb's base until the afternoon, when they left with a perplexed attitude and hunger for answers.
